Friday 1st July 2016
Dear Parents,
This week the children have been learning about light and dark. They have looked at their
shadows, talked about nocturnal animals and have made beautiful stained glass windows.
Next week the theme will be Art week. We will be joining the Primary phase in looking at one
pointing and basing the week’s work around it. We are looking forward to seeing the results
from nursey to Year 6.
Next week the children from the morning session will begin their transition to the Reception
classes.
They will be spending an hour every day (apart from Tuesday and Friday) in the
Reception classes with the Reception teachers. A member of staff from nursery will accompany
them so there will be a familiar face. This is a fantastic opportunity for all the children, even
those who won’t be attending St. Michael’s, to see what a Reception classroom is like and what
the rules and expectations might be.
We are very fortunate to be able to provide this
additional time for transition and we are sure all the children will enjoy themselves.
Some of you may have noticed that Mrs. Appleton hasn’t been with us this week.
unfortunately has a nasty virus and has been advised to be off work for another week.
.
Dates for your diary:
Friday 8th July: Ark Farm Visit.
Monday 18th July: Leavers Party (for morning session only)
Tuesday 19th July: Last day of nursery term.
We hope you have an enjoyable weekend,
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Appleton, Mrs Nowak, Mrs Ryan, Mrs. Magee and Miss Spiteri
