After checking in your luggage, move through security onto departure gate. Depart Los Angeles for Chicago. Late Afternoon Arrive in to a Chicago area airport (O’Hare or Midway) and collect your luggage. Meet your World Projects Tour Manager, board the coaches and transfer in to downtown Chicago. Check in to the Hilton Chicago (TBC). Evening Enjoy a Welcome Dinner at Giordano’s Pizza. After dinner, return to the hotel. A Meeting room at the hotel will be available as a social space between 6pm and approx. 11pm. DAY TWO: CHICAGO (B,D) – Rehearsal & Workshop Morning Breakfast as a group at the hotel. After breakfast, load the coaches and depart for Shedd Aquarium. The Shedd Aquarium contains over 25,000 fish, and was for some time the largest indoor aquarium in the world with 5,000,000 US gallons of water. It contains 1500 species including fish, marine mammals, birds, snakes, amphibians, and insects. The aquarium contains several exhibits, the most notable of which are the Caribbean Reef, the Wild Reef and the Oceanarium. Afternoon Evening Late morning transfer to State Street where you can enjoying some shopping time. Lunch on your own on State Street. After lunch, depart for a local university (TBC – possibly Northwestern or DePaul). Rehearsal for 2-3 hours at a local university (TBC). Following your rehearsal, possibly enjoy a workshop with Dr. Mallory Thompson (TBC – subject to availability). At the conclusion of your workshop, pack up and return to the hotel. Dinner as a group in Chicago. After dinner, attend a Broadway show at a theater in Chicago (TBC). DAY THREE: CHICAGO / MIDWEST CLINIC (B,D) – Rehearsal Morning Breakfast as a group at the hotel. After breakfast, load the coaches and depart for a visit to Willis Skydeck. The Sears Tower observation deck, called the Skydeck, opened on June 22, 1974. Located on the 103rd floor of the tower, it is 1,353 feet above ground and is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Chicago. In January 2009, the Willis Tower owners began a major renovation of the Skydeck, to include the installation of glass balconies, extending approximately four feet over Wacker Drive from the 103rd floor. The all-glass boxes allow visitors to look through the floor to the street Afternoon Evening Afterwards enjoy some shopping time along Michigan Ave / the Magnificent Mile. Depart for Navy Pier where you will have time to enjoy lunch on your own. After lunch, depart for a local university (TBC – possibly Northwestern or DePaul). Rehearsal for 2-3 hours at a local university (TBC). At the conclusion of the rehearsal, pack up and return to the hotel to drop off your instruments. Dinner as a group in Chicago. Following dinner, transfer to McCormick Place and attend a concert as part of the Midwest Clinic. A Meeting room at the hotel will be available as a social space between 6pm and approx. 11pm. DAY FOUR: CHICAGO / MIDWEST CLINIC (B,D) – Performance Morning Breakfast as a group at the hotel. Transfer to McCormick Place and sound check in this afternoon’s performance venue (TBC). Afternoon Lunch on your own at McCormick Place. Possible performance as part of the Midwest Clinic (TBC – subject to audition and acceptance). Following the performance, students and chaperones return to the hotel and enjoy free time for last minute shopping and sightseeing in the area. Post-Concert Wine & Cheese reception at either the Hyatt McCormick Place or the Hilton Chicago for a maximum of 50 attendees. Evening Farewell Dinner as a group in Chicago to celebrate your Midwest Clinic Performance Tour. Return to the hotel. DAY FIVE: CHICAGO LOS ANGELES (B, meals on plane) Morning Breakfast as a group at the hotel. Check out and transfer to a Chicago area airport (O’Hare or Midway). Check in for flight, say goodbye to your World Projects Tour manager and move through security onto your departure gate. Depart for Los Angeles.
