Dan & Antoinette Young A brief introduction ~ my husband Dan and I are the owners of Young’s Insurance Services, Inc. through whom you purchased a health insurance product either from us or one of our helpful agents. We would like to take a moment to introduce this newsletter and welcome all the new families to this complimentary mailing we send out quarterly. Our Brokerage Agency has been providing health and life insurance options as well as Medicare prescription plans and a variety of other products for close to fifteen years. Thank you for your confidence in our company, our agents and the products we offer. We hope you enjoy this and all future newsletters that we send out to keep in touch with everyone. ~ ************************************************ We hope this issue finds everyone wellrested and happy from the wonderful Summer we just had. We have enjoyed the time with our family and friends and hope all of you have done the same! Here at Young’s, we have been hard at work. During the month of August, we gradually moved office locations and that was a bit crazy to say the least! We are still fine tuning everything, but for the most part, we are all settled in at our new location. It looks and feels great and we are getting ready for the upcoming season. Feel free to stop in and visit if you are in the area! The new building layout provides us with much more space (all on one floor), handicapped accessibility and easier visibility (it sits right on Germantown Pike in Eagleville). It has been an all around good move. We also want to let you know that the office has a new phone system. It is a VOIP (voice over the internet) program. It has been a real challenge learning to properly use all the available options, so please be patient with us. The new system, while complicated to learn, has provided many more options to assist us and we look forward to working out the kinks. Due to storms that may hit our area, however, we want to let you know that the power, internet or phones might get knocked out. So, when you call, if there is not an option to leave a message OR a call is not returned to you within 48 hours after contacting us - PLEASE call us back! What’s New WE’VE MOVED OFFICE LOCATIONS! As of September 1st, we completely settled into our new, beautiful office and began our preparation for the upcoming months! As a reminder, the address of our new office is: Young’s Insurance Services, Inc. Fairview Office Plaza 2933 West Germantown Pike Building 2, Suite 200 Eagleville, PA 19403 PLEASE ALSO REMEMBER OUR PHONE / FAX NUMBER WILL REMAIN THE SAME!!!! An aerial photo of the new location is viewable under the "contact us" section of our website. Check it out if you have the time! It will point out two entrances, one on Germantown Pike and one on Windy Hill Road just off Germantown Pike. If you are coming in from the Germantown Pike entrance, you will have to follow the road around through the parking lot to the far end to find our building. The most direct route will be to enter off of Windy Hill Road. Our entrance will be directly in front of you to your right. We are very excited about our move and encourage you to stop by and visit! Please do not hesitate to call with any questions and feel free to contact us for directions. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the transition. We appreciate it and look forward to assisting you! Page 1 IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN! Starting this year forward, the AEP (Annual Election Period) will run from OCTOBER 15th—DECEMBER 7th with the effective date still January 1st. Along with this quarter’s newsletter is our Young’s Insurance Services, Inc. complimentary YELLOW RX REVIEW SHEET. This yellow sheet is also known as the Medicare Part D Prescription Annual Review sheet. Since drug plans, premiums, co-pays and formularies change each year from company to company, we offer this service to make sure you are in the most cost effective plan for your prescriptions. We have altered our yellow review sheet this year so please take the time to carefully read over all the information and instructions on the front of the yellow sheet before filling in the reverse side. Also, be very careful while filling in your information and prescriptions. Exact spelling, exact dosage, and exactly how many times a day you are prescribed to take a medication is crucial. Without this precise information, we will be unable to find the best results for you. You can send your yellow review sheet back to us as soon as possible, but PLEASE TAKE NOTE that we will not be able to start reviewing them until October 15th, because the new plans will not be released until this date. This complimentary service is on a first come, first serve basis though. Please give us a few weeks after you send your sheet back AND the Annual Election Period starts for us to get back to you with the results. We would also like to point out that along with the yellow sheet this year, we are sending you out a “Scope of Appointment” form. This form gives us permission to assist you in reviewing your current plan and discuss options. Please sign this and return it along with your ―Yellow Sheet‖ if you wish us to compare plans! This is a Medicare requirement! *********************************************** We also want to point out again, especially at this time of year, that your area is being flooded with calls and post card mailers from Banker’s, Humana, & Aetna. These are SALES calls! They will usually involve such comments as ―Medicare Changes‖ or ―New Important Medicare Rules‖. Again, these are just sales calls. Any REAL MEDICARE information will have the TRUE MEDICARE logo on it! If you have any questions regarding your coverage, simply call our office and we’ll be glad to discuss any real Medicare changes that could effect you. Remember that we have a multitude of services, companies and products that we now offer, so if you are happy with our services and are in need of an additional quote or comparison, please, call us first! *********************************************** Take A Look How to tell if a Diamond is Real By: Stefanie Baldassano Did you ever wonder if one of your diamonds or a diamond you have seen is real or fake? Did you ever ponder how to go about finding out? Many people believe you must take it to an expert with skilled tools to find out if a diamond is real or fake. Actually, the truth is, it is easy to recognize a real diamond from a fake one on your own, even from your home, with these few simple tricks. One trick is to look at the diamond closely. If you see gray reflections, the diamond is more likely to be authentic than if you can see all color reflections. Also, real diamonds usually have very tiny dark or black specks (natural inclusions). If a stone has absolutely no specks even under extreme magnification, on average it is usually fake. True ―flawless‖ diamonds are rare and extremely expensive. Another trick if you are considering the purchase of a loose diamond, is to hold the diamond over a piece of paper with writing on it, a newspaper would be ideal. If you can CLEARLY read the text, this is usually a sign that the diamond is a fake. Diamonds refract so much light that they will not work as a magnifying glass and you would see no lines, circles, or letters through them. Other clear stones like glass or crystal will clearly reveal print. The quickest easiest way to verify if the diamond is real or not is to directly breathe on the diamond. If fog remains on the diamond for a few seconds, this is a sign that the diamond is not authentic. Real diamonds cannot hold heat, and therefore, the fog will disappear almost IMMEDIATELY. You can also check by simply placing the diamond in a cup of water. If it sinks immediately, chances are the diamond is real. If it is a fake however, it will float a while before fully sinking. We found these tricks and thought they were pretty interesting! Give it a try if you have the chance and surprise your friends! Of course a jeweler or certified gemologists can tell you for sure as well, but what’s the fun in that if you can do it on your own! :-) ************************************************* Announcements In and around the office . . . Jake Ryan Update From the owners Antoinette & Dan Young Our youngest son, Jake Ryan (now 28 months old) is growing fast! He talks in small sentences and has become the little parrot in the house mimicking EVERYTHING we say! He is full of energy and loves to see, hear and experience new things. He eats chicken and broccoli like crazy and drinks more water than a fish! Jake really enjoyed swimming and playing on swing sets this summer. He also had a motorized car that he rode outside and loved it! Ah, to be that free to play and sleep with no worries! No matter what is going on in our day, a little hug from him shifts all our focus! :-) ************************************************ Gabrielle Update From our agent Jim & his wife, Teri Gabby is ―army-crawling‖ all over the place and is getting pretty good at standing up on her own. We now have gates and other safety devices installed all over the house. Teri and I bought a harness called a ―The Juppy Baby Walker‖ which saves stress on our backs when assisting Gabby to walk. It truly means a lot that you value my service. Another prescription season is upon us. It seems the older I get the quicker time flies. With that, I would like to touch upon something that happened personally to me this year. My father passed away. He served our great country during WWII as a Paratrooper. Unfortunately, he came home a disabled veteran. His illness this past year was quite an eye opener for my family. The cost of in home care was $300 a day. Nursing facilities were $300 to $400 a day. It would have been financially less burdensome on my mother, if they had had Long Term Care Insurance to help with the cost. This is just food for thought. Please make sure you have a plan in place. The earlier you plan the better. Don't get caught without, because it can be financially devastating. Remember that we are on a limited timeframe to review your prescription plan so, to all my clients, if you wish for me to review your coverage, please fill out and send back your ―Yellow Sheet‖. Unfortunately, due to the volume of people I assist, I won’t be able to call each client to take a list of your medications nor will I be able to make house calls to review these plans. Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to assisting you! ********************************************** Rob Darnell— Hello Everyone, Fresh back from vacation and I must say, I love Arizona. There is so much to see. The Petrified Forest, Meteor Crater, Sedona, Tombstone and much more. I miss it already. It was a bit hot but that is fine with me. There’s nothing like the Painted Desert! The busy season is around the corner. Remember to send in all your ―Yellow Sheets‖ and ―Scope of Appointment‖ Forms. If you do not get one by the end of October you need to call and let me know. Please remember that I do not call each client to review plans. If you are my client and wish for me to do a review, please send back your filled out Yellow Sheet. If you are moving or have moved, please make sure you note that on the sheet! (cont. pg4) Page 3 , Inc. Fairview Office Plaza 2933 W. Germantown Pk.
