J.L. MANN ACADEMY Of Mathematics, Science, and Technology STUDENT PARKING POLICIES Driving to school is a privilege extended to students who meet the guidelines/expectations outlined below. Seniors will be allowed to purchase permits first week they go on sale. All other students may purchase beginning the second week they go on sale. Sale of Parking Permits usually began in late June or during July each year. Failure to meet any of the following expectations may result in the suspension, or loss of, your parking permit and driving privileges. Cost of Annual Permit: $40.00 Guidelines: 1. You must complete and present documentation from the South Carolina Alive @ 25 Program prior to purchasing a pass. 2. Permits are nontransferable. Only the student who registers for the permit may use it. There will be NO refund if the student leaves school for any reason during the year or if their privilege is suspended. 3. Static Permits will be issued and are to be displayed in the lower left inside corner (driver’s side) of windshield at all times. Please remove any parking permits from previous years. 4. Vehicles not properly registered with the school may be towed at the owner’s expense. 5. The cost to reissue a lost permit will be $20.00. 6. Students will obey all traffic signals, signs, road lines, and the directions of the administrator/duty personnel in the parking lot. Reckless driving in the parking lot will result in the loss of parking privileges for the remainder of the year. 7. Student vehicles may be parked only in the student parking lot. 8. Students may not loiter in the parking lot before or after school. 9. Vehicles may not produce excessive noise, including but not limited to stereos that can be heard outside of the vehicle, horns, loud mufflers, etc. 10. Students may not return to their vehicles during the school day without administrative approval. 11. Any vehicle on school grounds is subject to search by the administration at any time. 12. Although the student parking lot will be monitored by closed-circuit cameras, students are reminded to use common sense with regard to securing vehicles. Vehicles should be secured and locked with valuables placed out of sight. The school is not responsible for any theft or vandalism that occurs to vehicles parked on school grounds. All parking violations will be subject to the following penalties: 1st Offense - $20.00 fine 2nd Offense - $30.00 fine 3rd and subsequent violations - $50.00 fine Repetitive and delinquency fine payments could result in loss of driving privileges or towing of vehicle at owners expense. 2016-2017 J. Greenville County Schools provides bus transportation between the regular High School Campus and the Career Centers. The District prefers that all students take advantage of this transportation. A student must complete the SC Alive@25 Program and possess a JL Mann parking permit in order to obtain permission to drive to off-campus programs. 2. ALL OTHER PARKING LOTS/SPACES ARE OFF-LIMITS TO STUDENTS DURING THE SCHOOL DAY. Upon arriving on campus, students are to park in the student parking lot, get out of their vehicles and report to the building area. Permission to return to a parking lot must be obtained from an administrator. Violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action. JL Mann High School reserves the right to have any vehicle towed, at the owner’s expense, if it is in violation of any parking regulation. 3. Parking Fines and Consequences: 1st Offense - 20.00 Fine; 2nd Offense - $30.00 Fine; 3rd Offense - $50.00 /Loss of Driving Privileges. 4. JL Mann High School has the right to revoke driving privileges immediately for serious offenses.
