Family Events Committee
The family events committee has planned a Just Dance Night. It took place on
February 12th. There was dancing, music, and food. Everyone had a great time. The
students really enjoyed a night of dancing and hanging out with their friends.
School Climate
The monthly theme is responsibility. The school is having a
souper bowl food canned donation until March 18th
Gym
In the month of February School 10 have been working on all they're exercises. They have been practicing they're
exercises because they will be tested on push ups, running, and sit-ups. We want to see if the students will beat

Inside Our Classrooms
In the first grade the students
started to work on matter in
Science. In Math, they are
working on place value. In
Reading, The children are working on fact and opinion. In Social Studies, the students are
learning about Presidents
Washington and Lincoln. They
just completed their World
Language for the school year.
In second grade the children are working on the
following subjects:
-ELA: reading our weekly stories & finding the main
idea vs details, finding the theme of a story. We use
organizers for each weekly concept
-Writing: focusing on paragraph writing and using a
"hamburger" organizer to organize their sentences.
-math: subtracting two 2 digit numbers with
regrouping & constantly working on word problem
solving
-Social Studies- students researched with the IPADs
during class on their assigned president. Then over
the February recess they had to take that
information from their organizers and create a
creative project. Some students made posters, some
created a Lego presentation or made a book report.
Students then presented their projects to the class
so that the students start to practice listening to
others present.
The Third grade has learned a lot
this month. In math they are learning
about measurement and fractions.
In ELA the students are focusing on
run on sentences, similes, and
metaphors. Health is all about body
systems and in social studies the
students are learning about economy.
Good luck to the third graders when
they take the PARCC. Soon the third
graders are going to be some
Geniuses.
In the month of February, the 4th
grade have been really busy. In
math, the 4th grade are still
learning fractions and also area
models, they learned how to add
and subtract fractions and mixed
numbers and improper fractions. In
Science, the 4th grade had just
finished learning about Force and
Energy. In Reading, the 4th grade
have been learning Point of View and
have been practicing for the PARCC
Test.
This February the fifth grade has
been reviewing for the PARRC. The
children started a new program on
the Chrome books called “Test
Nav”. This is a program which
helps students prepare for the
PARCC by
providing sample
tests. The sample tests allow the
students to understand what kinds
of questions they will be seeing on
the actual test.

By Julia & Amaris
The best part about prints for February is that they are full of bright colors. Play up your favorite color in
a bold print by matching it with a solid pair of leggings!
Team up your prints with Chambray! A chambray shirt is the perfect addition to any outfit this season, but
we especially love it paired with our boho print leggings. Tie it up or tuck it in for the perfect play-date look!
Pair up a great pair of printed leggings or a patterned dress with neutral accessories like the Ankle
Boots or Glitter Mesh Slip Ons, for a balanced look!
Go Head to Toe! We know some days it’s the best we can do to get our little ones dressed and out the
door. For your rushed mornings there’s nothing easier (or more stylish) than going head to toe with prints
in a romper or a dress. We especially love the pops of blue and pattern in the Butterfly Catcher outfit!
Keep it Playful! Try matching your girls favorite graphic tee with a pair of printed leggings or joggers for a
casual look that’s perfect for the classroom or the playground! Keep the look cute and cohesive by staying
in the same color story for the print on bottom and graphics on top!

February’s Horoscopes
Aries - March 21-April 20
Leo - July 23-August 23
Capricorn - December 22-January 20
People who were born in this section of the year
have unusually strong will power and great obstinacy of purpose. They are usually born to be fighters in every sense of the world: they have also the
greatest ability as organizers on a large scale. They
find themselves as the organizers of big schemes or
as the heads of big businesses, and also in the
organization and development of countries.
After a couple of days you will feel stress because of test to
study for or stuff in general. You won't feel that happy you will
feel down or may i say gloomy. You won't feel like how you
really are, but that's ok because you will know how to fix the
problem to stop being stressed out
People born in January are usually mentally strong, but
they are, as a rule, generally aren’t understood by other
people. They are thinkers, reasoners, and usually successful
in business or any form of government work. Capricorn is a
pushy Cardinal Earth sign ruled by Saturn, the planet of
adversity.
Taurus - April 21-May 21
Virgo - August 24-September 22
Be prepared for change. Something big is going to happen
soon. Don’t freak out though! Although it may not seem too
great at first, this will have positive results in your life
Aquarius - January 21-February 19
AQUARIANS have great desire for material gain, but are
not greedy. They are tireless workers and are willing to
work for what they want, and do not demand more than
their fair share. They read character instinctively, and for
this reason they "see through" people too easily to be
really happy.

ATTENTION, ATTENTION!!!!!!!!!
Need advice?
Don’t know what to do?
Feeling sad? Scared? Or Confused?
Dr. Panther is here to help.
Every month Dr. Panther will
answer some of your questions in
our school newspaper. If you have
a question or need advice, just fill
out a form located outside the
cafeteria
DR. PANTHER:
Question: I’ve been left out a lot. Can you help me?
Getting left out or excluded from games or conversations in school can be very
hurtful. So what should you do? First, think about who you are trying to play
with or talk to. Are the students nice? Are they your friends? Do they exclude
other people?
If they are usually nice, ask them why they don’t want you to play? They may
have a reason. If they are not nice and they exclude others also, then you
shouldn’t play with them anyway. It is important to play and spend time with
FRIENDS. If they exclude you, they are not your FRIENDS.
Here is an idea….the next time you have recess, look around and find a student
that is alone. Ask them to play, or to talk. Chances are, they will welcome your
invitation. Good Luck!
Question: My friend is always mean to me. How do I get her to stop?
You must let your friend know that she is making you feel bad. You can say “It
hurts my feelings when you say mean things to me.” If she does not stop, she is
NOT A REAL FRIEND. Remember, real friends care about you, respect you, and
would not hurt you on purpose. It is important to be honest about your feelings.
It is also important to spend time with people who are good to you.
Just remember…it is important to learn from our mistakes. They help
you make better choices in the future!
