Selection Tool: used to enable selection of parts of the recording Play: from current cursor position Record: Use this button to being rerecording Stop: Use this button to stop recording. Zoom: Use the buttons to zoom in and out on the recording to help you select more accurately 6. Timeline: shows you in minutes and seconds where you are in the recording. 7. Cursor: shows you where you are in the recording, & allows you to select parts for editing Recording: 1. If you are using an external microphone, make sure it is set up correctly. 2. In the right corner of your Audacity screen, make sure that “Microphone” is selected. 3. Use the record, stop, pause, and play button to record and hear the audio. Deleting Sections of Audio: 1. Using the mouse and cursor, highlight the selected areas on the timeline that should be cut. 2. Select Edit and then select Delete. Save your project: 1. Select File and then Save Project 2. Select a location for your project. A project file (.aup) and associated folder will be saved to the selected location. Export your project: 1. Select File and then Export As MP3 2. If you have multiple audio tracks, Audacity may notify you that they will be mixed (combined into one track). 3. Select a location for the file. 4.
