You will be creating a presentation on an Impressionist or Post Impressionist Artist. To begin, go to my
webpage and under the 7th Grade section select the Impressionism PDF. Choose an artist from the
presentation that you would like to do your research on. You may use the links from my presentation or
www.artchive.com (keyword Impressionism or Post Impressionism.) Here you will find additional links and a
View Image List to research your artist. DO NOT use any images from any section that says “reproductions or
posters”

Answer the following questions.

Who is the artist that you chose to research?
Is the artist an Impressionist or Post Impressionist?
What type of work did they create? ( paintings, sculptures, both, etc)
Five facts about the artist.
Quotes from the artist OR by others about the artist. (at least 3)
What you like or don’t like about the artist and their work (your opinion). Your opinion should
be specific.
7. Choose 5 pieces of art that the artist created. You may NOT use pictures from my
presentation.
Part: 2
Once the questions in Part 1 are answered you are ready to use the information to create your
presentation using PowerPoint or Microsoft Photostory.
If you prefer to work with a partner you may create a video using Microsoft Movie Maker or iMovie.
(the video should contain all of the information required and should be no less than 30 seconds long)
You will be acting as a Museum Tour Guide, introducing your artist as if the viewer knows nothing
about Art, Impressionism or Post Impressionism.
The presentation should begin with an Introduction page with your name and the name of your
chosen artist.
The presentation should end with a page that includes all of the sources that you used such as
websites, books etc.
The presentation should clearly explain all of the answers to the questions from part 1.
The presentation should contain 5 slides with pictures of the artist’s artwork on each slide. The work
must be accompanied with an accurate title/description for each image.
The presentation will have a total of 7 slides. One intro slide, five slides of information and images
and one reference slide.
