Your wedding date and time is confirmed when you receive a written confirmation from

Legal Requirements
The following applies to non-Dominican nationals wishing to get married in
the Dominican Republic:
GUEST WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN MARRIED BEFORE NEED THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS.
Original Birth Certificate or legalized copy.
Declaration of Single Status.
Name change document, if necessary.
Copy of couple’s passports.
Translation into Spanish, apostille (only for countries part of the
haye) or legalized by the Dominican Embassy or consulate.

•All documents have to be translated into Spanish and legalized by the Dominican Consulate or Embassy in their home
country, see chart above. (The Consulate or Embassy charges for these services). Countries that are part of the HAGUE
AGREEMENT do not need legalized documents, only apostille. Please check http://www.hcch.net for more information.
•The couple needs to be in the Dominican Republic 48 hours prior to the wedding date.
•The Marriage Certificate will be issued with the name indicated on the Birth Certificate, unless a Name
Changed document is provided.
•In case of a prior marriage the divorce process has to be completed 6 months before the remarriage.
•Relatives cannot be witnesses.
•The wedding or renewal fee and service charge has to be paid to the wedding coordinator.
•The Marriage Certificate will be sent through UPS to the couple’s mailing address.
• Weddings packages are for guests staying at Barcelo Punta Cana.
• Services such as extra flowers, DJ services and pictures that are not included in any of the packages have an
additional cost.
• In case of bad wheather the wedding cannot be cancelled , it will be moved to a back up location.
