Dear Friends,
We are delighted to bring you the recent updates of Koinonia. We are grateful for the wonderful support in making a
positive impact in the lives of these children. At Koinonia, the students are nurtured in all areas of development including creativity, physical, spiritual and emotional well being in addition to their academics.
FIRE DRILL
Last term, a group of Koinonia teachers attended a fire
drill seminar at Kantaria hall at Redhill. A total of six staff
members were trained on fire safety. We were
informed of various kinds of fire extinguishers for different kinds of fires - water, powder and carbon dioxide.
We in-turn conducted a fire drill for the whole school by
raising an alarm of an imaginary fire from the kitchen.
All classes needed to be evacuated. We observed reactions from various students and based on this, the
students were briefed on the appropriate action/behavior
in such a scenario. The drill was successful and the
students were informed on the need for such exercise and
of servicing of fire equipment to ensure they are always
prepared to handle a fire emergency.
TALENT SHOW

INTERNSHIP
KIDS GO TECH
I am Joyce Njoki a student at Koinonia Education Center
in high school. At Koinonia, we are privileged to express
ourselves. During April holiday, I had an opportunity to
work at Kyuna kindergarten in the kitchen department.
It was a great experience for me as I learnt to prepare
food such as cottage pie and pizza and explored many
other recipes. I thank the administration for the chance
I got to learn and work in the real world.
During April holidays we had a privilege of sending seven
students to the kids go tech program sponsored by Safaricom. The program exposes students to day to day
technology and gives
them a platform to think
new inventions in plan
with vision 2030. This time,
Alex one of our students
was very instrumental. He
took the role of explaining
in detail the different
projects they did. It was
great to see his passion,
motivation and inspiration
toward new inventions.
