O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free;
Rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness over me.
Underneath me, all around me, in the current of thy love;
Leading onward, leading homeward, to thy glorious rest above.
O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
Spread his praise from shore to shore;
How he loveth, ever loveth, changeth never, nevermore;
How he watches o’er his loved ones, died to call them all his own;
How for them he intercedeth, watcheth o’er them from the throne.
O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
Love of ev’ry love the best:
‘Tis an ocean vast of blessing, ‘tis a haven sweet of rest.
O the deep, deep love of Jesus! ‘Tis a heav’n of heav’ns to me;
And it lifts me up to glory, for it lifts me up to thee.

Corporate Worship
Sunday, July 7, 2013 ~ 11:15 AM
We welcome you to our worship service today. It is our sincere hope and prayer
that you will find your worship experience to be encouraging, challenging,
invigorating, and renewing you in the knowledge of God and the wonderful
hope that we have through the Gospel of Christ. Most of all, we hope that
God will be glorified by the worship we render to him.
Please help minimize distractions by not taking photographs during the service
and by setting all communication devices to silent mode.
We also ask that food and drink not be brought into the Sanctuary.
O Beautiful for Spacious Skies
O beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain;
For purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea.
O beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved, and mercy more than life!
America! America! May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness, and every gain divine.
O beautiful for patriot dream that sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam, undimmed by human tears!
America! America! God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self control, thy liberty in law.
O LORD, God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven! You rule over
all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might.
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine
upon us, that your way may be known on earth, your saving power
among all nations.
Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples with
equity and guide the nations upon earth.
- 2 Chronicles 20:6, Psalm 67:1-4
From All That Dwell Below the Skies
From all that dwell below the skies
Let the Creator’s praise arise.
Let the Redeemer’s name be sung
Thro’ ev’ry land, by every tongue.
In ev’ry land begin the song;
To ev’ry land the strains belong.
In cheerful sounds all voices raise,
And fill the world with joyful praise.
Eternal are Your mercies, Lord;
Eternal truth attends your word.
Your praise shall sound from shore to shore,
Till suns shall rise and set no more.
I believe that the eternal Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who out of nothing created heaven and earth
and everything in them,
who still upholds and rules them
by his eternal counsel and providence,
is my God and Father
because of Christ the Son.
I trust God so much that I do not doubt
he will provide whatever I need
for body and soul,
and will turn to my good
whatever adversity he sends upon me
in this sad world.
God is able to do this because he is almighty God
and desires to do this because he is a faithful Father.
- Heidelberg Catechism Q&A 26
So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God
shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and
does what is right is acceptable to him. As for the word that he sent to
Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord
of all), you yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea,
beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed: how
God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power.
He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the
devil, for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all that he did
both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to
death by hanging him on a tree, but God raised him on the third day
and made him to appear, not to all the people but to us who had been
chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose
from the dead. And he commanded us to preach to the people and to
testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and
the dead. To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who
believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who
heard the word. And the believers from among the circumcised who
had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit
was poured out even on the Gentiles. For they were hearing them
speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared, “Can
anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received
the Holy Spirit just as we have?” And he commanded them to be
baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain
for some days.
- Acts 10:34-48
Man of Sorrows! What a Name
Man of Sorrows! What a name
For the Son of God, Who came
Ruined sinner to reclaim:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned he stood,
Sealed my pardon with his blood:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Guilty, vile, and helpless, we;
Spotless Lamb of God was he;
Full atonement! Can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Lifted up was he to die,
“It is finished!” was his cry;
Now in heav’n exalted high:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
When he comes, our glorious King,
All his ransomed home to bring,
Then anew this song we’ll sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
(During the offering, please sign the Friendship Pad and pass it down.)
