Introducing the Greek School Teachers
Kindergarten: Danai Constantinou Teacher: 1994-present
I am Danai Constantinou and I was born in Kilkis, Greece. I
studied civil engineering and received a degree in civil
engineering in Patras, Greece. However, my passion is to
work with young children and thus, I started teaching at
the Greek Language School.
Since 1994, I teach the
introductory class.
First
Grade:Lea Cervi
Teacher: 2011-present
Lea Cervi (neé Angelaki): She was born in Athens Greece,
where her parents and sister remain. She attended the
National University of Athens where she received a B.S.
in Geology and later attended Kent State University
(Ohio), where she earned a Master’s of Sciences degree
in Geology. Job search brought her to Buffalo, New York
in 1997. She has been employed since 1997 at Ecology and
Environment, Inc. headquartered in Lancaster. This is
where later she met her husband Brian. They were
married in Greece in 2001. In 2004, they were blessed
with their son Dominic. Lea also teaches Sunday school (3rd/4th grade) and is the
coordinator of the Joy/Hope youth activities. She and her family live in Elma.
Second Grade: Vasso Papavassiliou Teacher: 2008-present
Vasiliki Philippopoulou Papavassiliou: born in Aigion,
Greece. Bachelor's degree from University of Patras,
Greece. Master of Science from Baston College,
Boston, MA. Resides in Williamsville, NY with her
husband Vasilis Papavassiliou and their three children,
Marilena, Christina and Ari.
Women Philoptochos Board Member since 2011.
Third Grade: Fotini Koutsandreas
Teacher: 2002-present
Fourth Grade: Ria Iliadou-Andreadis
Teacher: 2001-present
Principal: 2011-present
Born in Kavala, Greece.
Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics (Aristotle
University, Thessaloniki).
Master of Arts in Applied Economics (EMU, Michigan).

Fifth Grade: Ioanna Koutroulakis
Teacher: 1993-present
My name is Ioanna Koutroulakis, and I teach grade
fifth at the Greek Language School in Buffalo. I have
been teaching Greek School in Buffalo for 20 years. I am a school teacher specializing in Teaching English
as a Second Language to International students.
I have been working as an English as a Second language
teacher for twelve years, for the Catholic School
Board in Niagara.
Sixth
& Seven Grade: Stefanos Papazaharias Teacher: 2001-present
Stefanos Papazaharias was born in Trikala, Greece.
He holds a BA in Economics, a MA in Economics and an Ed.M.
in Education (SUNY, Buffalo, NY)
He is an educational administrator and a professor of
Modern Greek at the University at Buffalo.
He has been teaching in our Greek Language School since
2001. He has served as Principal of the school from 2005 to
2011.

Born and raised in Athens, Greece
