On January 7, 1969, an unknown male was contacted
at 1049 Keith Avenue, Berkeley. California, the last known
address of Stewart Albert. This person advised that Albert
is not at home and is in IITeronto or some other place back
east." This person stated that he expected Albert to return
to Berkeley, but he could not fix the date of this expected
return.

On the night of·April 12~ 1966, a number of PLP
mempers had attended a Vietnam Day Committee (VDC) demon­
stration in front of the Berkeley City Hall which had been
broken up. A police officer stopped the group because
he clai~ed ke heard someone- shout an obscene word! and he
arbitrarily arrested one of the group. The rest of the PLP
group demanded to know what right the officer had to arrest
someone on mere suspicion. The officer whistled for aid, and
fellow officers~ ap~arently believing that their fellow
officer was being attacked~ began ~ members
off, includinA STEWART ALBERT and 111111111111111 and were
arrested.

8lcietY'with such contempt. Among those interviewed was'
STEWART ALBERT, age 23, described as the Co-Coordinator of
the r~ee University of Berkeley. ALBERT said he came to
Berkeley from Hew YorK City, where he was a case worker
• in the Welfare Department. He said that after experiencing
class hostility to the poor in the Welfare Department, he
quit and came to the Bay Area.
On January 31, 1966, the Subject was observed by a
Special Agent of the FBI in a demonstration of a group of
individuals numbering appi~ximately 200, who marched from
the campus of UCB to the office of Congre,ssman JEFFERY

COllELAN in Oakland, california, to demonstrate against U.S.
involvement in the war in Vietnam.. The spokesman for the
group said the purpose of the demonstration was to urge
COHELAN to introduce a bill in Congress to impeaCh President
JOllNSON.
