Our tools help you measure, track and share children’s attainment and progress for EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Four planning and assessment tools • Essential Skills framework This tool breaks down the programmes of study for each subject into end-of-year, age-related expectations. This ensures children gain a breadth of understanding and also helps you identify gaps in learning. • Developmental Skills framework 10 The framework splits maths and English skills into termly, age-related expectations, helping you to differentiate your teaching and learning. The framework also helps you assess and monitor children’s progress. A year’s access £250* • Assessment and Moderation Grids These allow you to record and evidence children’s learning in line with Developmental Skills statements for reading, writing and maths. It’s a great tool for moderating children’s work and getting staff up to speed on the attainment expectations of the new national curriculum. • Progress and Attainment Tracker Our online user-friendly, age-related assessment tracker allows you to quickly record and analyse children’s progress against national expectations and targets set by your school. 11 * Price subject to change and VAT Cornerstones Maths tests Brand new maths tests that mirror the style of the 2016 SAT Papers. They are easy to use and show your children what to expect in their statutory test. Easy as 1, 2, 3 From May 2016, all eligible children in maintained and specialist schools, academies and free schools will be assessed with new end-of-key-stage tests. Our tests make it simple for you to assess children’s progress, identify gaps in knowledge and measure their progress throughout the year. Written by real teachers and shaped by in-school testing, they are easy to use and include useful teacher guidance. Spot gaps in learning Our electronic attainment and gap analysis tool gives you individual analysis for every test, showing you the areas where children are thriving and where more support is required. You’ll have a clear idea of how your children are working in line with the programmes of study and age-related expectations of the national curriculum. 12 Arithmetic Tests Quickly and easily check progress with seven arithmetic tests per year group. Moderate and confirm your previous summer judgement in September, then use them formatively at the end of each half term. They provide suitable challenge while maintaining your children’s confidence and self-esteem. Reasoning Papers Mirroring the style of the 2016 SAT papers 2 and 3, this set of termly diagnostic tests cover number, ratio and proportion, algebra, measurement, geometry and statistics. The tests use a broad balance of tasks, including drawing shapes, evaluation of a statement or problem, and completing a chart, table or shape, as well as single answer, multiple choice, matching and true or false questions. 13 Supports any curriculum Each investigation develops key knowledge and is linked to assessment, covering specific programmes of study for ‘working scientifically’. Build practical science into your planning, knowing that lessons will complement other topics perfectly. Every investigation is linked to one of our Imaginative Learning Projects, which makes them an ideal add-on for any Cornerstones school. Written and tested by Dr Fran Dr Fran is a molecular and cell biologist with a passion for hands-on, practical science in the classroom. 14 What is a reflection? (Year 6) Get your class excited about science Our series of practical, exciting investigations cover tricky topics in new and unusual ways, including evolution, mechanisms and air resistance. All activities come with background knowledge for teachers who haven’t taught the topic before and method boards to help children work more independently. Are all sea creatures the same?
