CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY
This year we were very excited to have the Ingle Farm Scout Group on-board to help us in cleaning up Montague
Farm for everyone to enjoy. 18 scouts, a good proportion of which were between the ages of 6 and 8, along with a
dozen adult supervisors and cub leaders cleared the wetlands west and north of Montague Farm of rubbish.
CONTACTS:
Along with four members of the Neighbourhood Watch Committee, 27 bags of rubbish and a plethora of large items
were collected. We worked early on the day as the weather was unfavourable this year. It was hot and humid from
early in the morning with it reaching 39 degrees just past midday so everyone involved can be commended for their
commitment.

As we had extra help for cleaning up the wetlands, the Neighbourhood Watch Committee members concentrated on
the areas in the south near Montague Rd. The rubbish collected there mainly consisted of fast food drink containers
and what seemed like thousands of Mentos wrappers!
We would like to thank Pam for manning the rally point and once again Kennards Hire in Salisbury for generously
lending us a trailer to help us in our clean-up efforts. We certainly would not have been able to collect some of the
larger items without it.

I have left the bold formatting above intact from the original crime report that I received from
SAPOL. It is quite evident that there is a little frustration at how many thefts are from vehicles
and houses with unlocked doors. We can all be a little complacent especially with doors in the
rear of our property. Note to self: Need to get a padlock for the shed!
