Spring/Summer 2013
Everybody in the Pool!
W.C. Esp specializes in pool heaters! 4 Propane-fired 4 Natural gas-fired 4 Heating oil-fired
Enjoy a fun and refreshing dip in the pool – from May through September! Pool heaters extend
your swimming season by allowing you to open your pool earlier and close it later in the season.
They also give you the control to set the desired temperature for your pool.
W.C. Esp is proud to feature heaters for pools of all sizes and types – in-ground, above-ground, from
only a few feet in diameter to Olympic-size. We’ve got heaters powered by propane … natural gas … and heating oil.
And, of course, we have the expert technicians on staff to install and service your pool heating equipment.
We also offer spa and hot tub heaters.
We especially recommend propane for pool heating
Propane is a “green” and economical way to heat pools – far better than electric
heat pumps!
4 Propane is less expensive –
LIPA customers suffer some of the
highest electric rates in the country
– and historically, electricity has
cost more than propane.
4 Propane is more comfortable – Heat
pumps raise temperatures through
long run cycles, meaning slow recovery
times. A properly sized propane gas
heater is able to get up to temperature
much faster than a comparable heat
pump.
4 Propane does the job better –
Heat pumps require warm, humid
weather to transfer that energy from 4 Propane is “off the grid” – When

Do I Need a New
Central A/C?
Is it time to replace your central air
conditioner … or simply repair it? Let’s look
at some of the red flags indicating it may be
time to say farewell to that old A/C:
Your air conditioner is more than 12
years old. Most central air conditioning
units last about 20 years. At 12 years old,
your air conditioning unit has passed its midlife point. Even if your air conditioner is only
10 years old, you may save 20-40% of your
cooling energy costs by replacing it with a
newer, more efficient model from W.C. Esp.
Your equipment needs frequent
repairs and your energy bills are
rising. Your cooling equipment may have
become less efficient – especially if you
haven’t been keeping up with your annual
W.C. Esp air conditioning checkups.
Some rooms in your home are
cooler than others. Improper equipment
operation or duct problems could be the
cause. At W.C. Esp, we can check both.
Your home has humidity problems.
Poor equipment operation, inadequate
equipment, and leaky ductwork can cause
the air to be too humid in the summer.
Again, W.C. Esp can let you know.
New central air
conditioners are
so much better!
THEY USE LESS ENERGY
According to the U.S. Department of
Energy, today’s central air conditioners
use 30% to 50% less energy to produce
the same amount of cooling as air
conditioners made in the mid-1970s.
THEY’RE MORE
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
As of 2010, all air conditioners are
required to have eco-friendly R410A
coolant and all R-22 (“Freon”) coolant,
believed to be linked to global
warming, has been phased out of
production. Because of this phase-out,
the price of R-22 has risen as much as
400% – and it may go higher.
THEY’RE BUILT BETTER.
The latest A/Cs are more compact,
whisper-quiet and built for greater
durability.
THEY DO MORE THAN JUST
KEEP YOU COOL
Modern central air conditioners are
sophisticated systems integrating
ventilation, humidification,
dehumidification and indoor air
quality, and the newest units have
“smart” microprocessor-based controls
to regulate these functions.
Your cooling system is noisy.
You could have an undersized duct system
or a problem with the indoor coil of your
cooling equipment. Call W.C. Esp for an
evaluation.
