Summer vacation becomes the summertime fun for the kids which begin with
the ringing of the last bell in the school. Summer time is the quality time for the
kids. It is the time of simple pleasure and excitements. Summer holidays bring
lots of new opportunities to the students and give them a chance to learn new
things and enhance their skills. They visit their home town, meet grandparents,
go to hill stations and even get enrolled in summer camps to boost their talent
and knowledge.

D.P.S. Gr.Fbd. has always been a motivating partner of growth and development in
the lives of students. So we bring this Summer Holiday Homework on the theme of
‘India’, to create awareness among dipsites, of the rich culture heritage of our
country.
• India is a beautiful country and famous all over the world for its unique cultures and
traditions. It is renowned for its historical heritages and monuments. India gets its name
from the Greek word, Indus. It means "the people who lived near the Indus River." It is
also called "Bharat" in Hindi.
• The Republic of India has more than 1.2 billion people, which is the second
largest population in the world. It is the seventh largest country in the world by area and
the largest country in South Asia. It is also the most populous democracy in the world.
The coastline of India is of about 7,517 km (4,671 mi) long. India has the third
largest military force in the world. .
• Let us listen to the stories about ancient India and its heroes from our grandparents,
eat traditional delicacies, visit different places and learn about its culture and
heritage. This summer our Dipsites are all set to discover our India, our
motherland.

Here are some suggestions to help your child use time constructively while
enjoying the vacation. Kindly guide and help your ward do the designed activities
as it will help in strengthening the bond between parents and children.
➢ Story Telling – Stories since ages have been the best way to interact with
the children, build their vocabulary and increase their concentration span.

➢ Use the Golden Word HELP – Encourage your child to help his / her
grandparents, siblings and friends. Let them lend a hand and see the magic.

independent, the more he becomes confident. Encourage the child to dress
up independently, clean room, keep toys in place, fold sheet, help mother in
laying table and small household errands.
➢ Let summer do the magic of water - Indulge your child in mixing and
making new drinks which are refreshing and different. (Add lemon to your
favourite Roohafzah and here is your citrus rich drink ready.)
➢ Motivate your child to use English as a medium to converse and teach
him/her to use simple sentences.
➢ Motivate your child to speak few lines on “My Country”. This Oral
Interaction activity will be conducted in the class after the summer
vacation.
➢ It will be great if you find time to take your ward to visit museums and
monuments to learn and collect new things.
