Under 13 Match Rules - 1 Day Games
Age U/13
Players must be under 13 as of September 1 of the current year, at the start of the season.
ALL Players must register and can play with no more than two Clubs in any one season.
Clearances are permitted.
Minor Round
Time:

One day matches shall start at 8.30 am and conclude at 12.00 pm.

1st innings will commence at 8:30am and should be completed by no later than 10.10am.

2nd innings will commence at 10.20am.

The team batting second will receive the same number of overs that were completed in the 1st innings.

Should First team be bowled out prior to 30 over being completed the Second team will receive the full 30
overs or time permitting.
Boundaries:
45m measured from the centre wicket at each end.
Overs:

Each team should aim for 30 overs per innings.

Total 60 overs per match.
Number of Players
A team may consist of a maximum of 15 players.
Batsmen:

In one day matches, batsmen must retire at 30 runs. That is, they must retire straight after the ball on
which they reach 30 and NOT at the end of the over.

All batsmen must bat for a minimum of 2 overs unless dismissed beforehand.

Coaches may retire batsmen at any time, after the batsmen have batted a minimum of 2 overs, but retired
players may only resume their innings once ALL players have batted. Retired batsmen with the LOWEST
score must resume their innings FIRST.
Bowlers:

All players MUST bowl a minimum of 2 overs and no bowler can bowl more than 4 overs.

The ONLY exception to the minimum 2 overs is if the wicket keeper keeps for the entire game. If there is
a change of wicket keeper then they will need to also bowl the minimum 2 overs.

ALL players on the match list must bowl 2 overs before any additional overs are bowled.
Balls:
Two piece 142 gram leather balls to be used.
LBW:
Normal LBW rules apply.
No Balls:

A no ball must be called when the ball is above waist height for a full toss (Inc. fast and slow spin)

Or above shoulder height for a short pitched (fast only) or bouncing delivery.

Any ball bouncing more than twice should be called a no-ball, with one run being added to the score. A
no-ball is shown in the bowler's analysis as a dot with a circle around it.
Wide’s:

TURF WICKETS: Any ball pitching off the pitch will be deemed a wide. This provision does not
apply if the striker makes contact with the ball.

HARD WICKETS: Any ball hitting the side of the pitch and comes back onto the pitch will be
deemed a wide. This provision does not apply if the striker makes contact with the ball.
Dead Ball:

If a ball pitches on a strap, hem on the matting, between two pieces of the mat, or on the edge of the pitch
it shall be deemed "dead".

No runs or extras shall be recorded and the ball must be rebowled. The umpire at the bowler's end must
call "dead ball" promptly.
Number of Deliveries Per Over:

The first two no balls or wides are to be rebowled for a maximum of eight balls in any one over.

Any subsequent no balls or wides in an over also incur a penalty of one run but are not re-bowled.
EXCEPTION: Final over of an innings 6 legal deliveries must be bowled.
Fielding:

No fielder may take up a position in front of or parallel with the popping crease closer than 10 metres to the
batter.

No player may enter this restricted area until the ball has been: (1) hit by the batter (2) strikes the body or
equipment of the batter (3) passes through to the wicket keeper.

An infringement of this will result in "Dead Ball" being called by the umpire and the ball being rebowled.

There must be no more than 11 players on the field at any given time.
Helmets:

Wearing of helmets is COMPULSORY whilst batting and for wicketkeepers while standing up
at the stumps only.

A child may choose to wear a helmet whilst wicketkeeping back from the stumps if they wish.
Dress Code:
White or cream shirt with collar, (Club shirts are permitted); white or cream long trousers or shorts, white shoes
and socks. Caps or hats are compulsory.
Temperature Rule:
If the forecast issued by the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) website at approximately 4:15pm on the day
preceding the game is 38° or greater, the game shall be cancelled.

Refer to FINALS RULES for Under 13 competition.
MATCH REPORTS TO BE FURNISHED
After the completion of each match, the following reports as set out below with areas of
responsibility are required to be lodged online using the MyCricket administration system.
Home Team Responsibilities
1. Selection of teams and match results must be entered into MyCricket by midnight on the
Wednesday following the completion of the match.
2. Spirit of Cricket votes must be entered into MyCricket or emailed to the Association Registrar
by midnight on the Thursday following the completion of the match
3. Individual player statistics must be entered into MyCricket by midnight on the Thursday
following the completion of the match.
Please Note
The away team may enter the match results at such time this is done the home team will be
required to approve the result.
Away Team Responsibilities
1. Selection of teams must be entered and match results approved in MyCricket by midnight
on the Wednesday following the completion of the match.
2. Spirit of Cricket votes must be entered into MyCricket or emailed to the Association Registrar by midnight
on the Thursday following the completion of the match.
3. Individual player statistics must be entered into MyCricket by midnight on the Thursday
following the completion of the match.
Please Note
The away team may enter the match results at such time this is done the home team will be
required to approve the result.
PENALTY FOR NON COMPLIANCE
Any Team that fails to submit the above reports will be subject to the following penalties:
(i) In relation to Reports 1, 2 & 3 a fine not exceeding $15.00 for each separate transgression.
(ii) Clubs that continue to transgress will be subjected to increased fines not exceeding $25.
