Buena Vista, CO — Today, Vertex - the inaugural music and camping festival in Buena Vista,
Colorado on August 5-7, 2016 – announces dj duo ODESZA, recent 4-time Grammy winners
Alabama Shakes and the Trey Anastasio Band (2 sets) to headline the lineup of over 30 established
and emerging acts. Hosted in a stunning mountain valley setting, Vertex will showcase the best of
Colorado. As a community-minded event that merges diverse musical genres, art, and a variety of
experiences and outdoor adventures, Vertex promises an elevated experience that takes the U.S.
festival and its culture to new heights – Colorado style.
Duke Dumont, Seven Lions, Jai Wolf, Dopapod, Hiatus Kaiyote, Graham Nash, Anderson .Paak &
The Free Nationals, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, Houndmouth, The Revivalists and others were
also revealed in today’s lineup announcement. See below for the complete list of currently confirmed
artists, with more still to be announced.
Tickets to Vertex go on sale Friday, March 25 at 12pm MDT at vertexfestival.com. A portion of ticket
sales will be used to support the launch of Vertex’s local philanthropic programs. For this inaugural
year, Vertex will be working with Chaffee County and the Town of Buena Vista to begin the
development of a long-awaited community garden. In addition, the festival’s Music In Schools
Program is partnering with Buena Vista’s public schools to help provide funding for their middle
school and high school music departments. The money donated will help to pay for 2016-2017
Honor Band and Choir travel to competitions across the state, and to support the purchase of new
band and choir performance uniforms. More information on both programs is available here.
Vertex is produced by Madison House Presents (MHP) and AEG Live Rocky Mountains. Boulder,
Colorado based MHP is responsible for The Grateful Dead’s recent Fare Thee Well 50th Anniversary
Celebration, Mumford & Sons Gentlemen of the Road U.S. Stopovers (including last year’s event in
Salida, Colorado), the renowned Electric Forest festival in Rothbury, Michigan, and many more.
Colorado’s premier promoter, AEG Live Rocky Mountains, produces events at Fiddler’s Green
Amphitheatre, 1STBANK Center, Bluebird Theater, Ogden Theatre, Gothic Theatre, Red Rocks
Amphitheatre, Pepsi Center and more in Colorado as well as shows in Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico,
Arizona and Tennessee.
Vertex is born as an intersection of inspiration, and as a celebration - of live music, of festival culture,
of Colorado’s breathtaking natural beauty, and of the self-expression and pioneering spirit that each
of these awaken.

festival site to create Vertex,” explains Madison House Presents President and Vertex Producer
Jeremy Stein. “This will be a one-of-a-kind event, created by Coloradans who care about community
first. Our state has been waiting for a long time for a festival like this. We aim for Buena Vista and
Chaffee County to be proud, for Colorado to celebrate, and for the national eye to sharpen its focus
on this very special state.”
At its core, Vertex merges the best of worlds to create a present-day frontier where anything is
possible. Diverse music, exhilarating outdoor adventures such as whitewater rafting, hiking, and
artful fun and games bring people together for an enduring shared experience.
Vertex’s vision is inspired by its majestic high elevation home where sky meets peaks, peaks meet
valleys, and valleys meet rivers. Nestled in sprawling rangeland at the foot of the Continental Divide
and surrounded by the year-round snowcapped 14,000-foot peaks of the Collegiate Mountain
Range, the festival site is known as Cottonwood Meadows, a recently revitalized working ranch
located a mile from downtown Buena Vista, Colorado in Chaffee County. Cottonwood Creek runs
through the campgrounds and the festival site itself.

About Tickets:
General Admission “Base Camp” tickets, which include meadow camping, start at $199.75. For an
enhanced experience underneath the Collegiate Range, several unique “Tree Line VIP” selections
are available, including creek side camping, multiple options for glamping tents with electricity, VIP
Campground RV access, and more. All VIP offerings include special event access and high quality
amenities.
To support the environmental sustainability of Vertex, each vehicle driving onto the site must
purchase a vehicle pass, and carpooling is encouraged. Consider traveling to the festival via a
VerteXpress Shuttle. With busses departing from cities across the region – including Denver,
Boulder, Ft. Collins, CO; plus Cheyenne, WY; Colorado Springs and Pueblo, CO, Santa Fe, NM and
