I think editing is very much like script writing, only the editor uses pictures and sounds instead of words. Emotions, characters and story arc are my main focus, but I believe pace and rythm are the basis of a film, like
music in a way, each scene having its own pace and rhythm, but all the scenes making a whole different piece together.
