Nursing Student Association!
Dear Nursing Student,
Congratulations! Being accepted into the MSU College of Nursing is no easy task!
During your orientation, a few members from the Nursing Student Association
Executive Board will meet with you to discuss the benefits of getting involved with
NSA, as well as let you know how you can sign up for membership.
You may have heard about NSA as a pre-nursing student, and you may already be a
member. If not, now is the time to join! The Nursing Student Association is the College
of Nursing’s largest student organization with over 300 members. We meet monthly
and will notify you of our fall meeting dates at Orientation. We have a variety of
community service opportunities, great guest speakers, a job fair, book scholarships, a
mentor program, and three conventions for members to attend. Membership dues are
good for all four semesters and only cost $20. It’s good to keep in mind that continued
involvement in co-curricular activities throughout nursing school will look competitive
on resumes for externships and nursing positions, and running for an executive board
position will offer valuable experiences and leadership training.
You have also received a stethoscope order form in your admissions packet, and
instructions on how to place an order for a stethoscope and/or other medical supplies
if you choose. NSA has partnered with “The Medical Store” to bring you the best
products at the best price. The stethoscopes sold through NSA are offered at a
tremendous discount to you! Please take the time to fill out and order your
stethoscope, either on the paper form or online. If you order through our NSA/The
Medical Store sale, your stethoscope will be handed out to you during your BSN
Orientation date.
