Coding with Kids ALL NEW!
Join Coding with Kids instructors to learn real coding concepts in a very fun way. Programming tool used in beginning
classes is Scratch, a drag - and - drop environment developed by MIT specifically for kids; no typing skills needed.
More advanced classes move into Javascript and HTML.
Both beginners and experienced Scratchers are welcome
and will enjoy a fun, project - based curriculum designed
for their age and experience level. Maximum 8 kids per
instructor. Laptops provided. Coding with Kids is a Washington - based programming academy for elementary and
middle school children.Coding with Kids Summer Camps are
a place for coders to unleash their creativity and take the
next step on their Coding Journey.
Little Coders Camp
Campers will develop computational thinking skills, and
foster creativity, and have fun coding! Little Coders camps
feature a blend of connected and “unplugged” activities to

Coding Game Development
During the Game Programming for Beginners camp, our
tech - savvy instructors will introduce students to the core
coding concepts at the heart of computer science, and guide
small groups of campers in building an interactive story and
game of their own. Children come to camp with a variety of

Coding Game Development
During the Intermediate/Advanced Game Programming
camp, campers don’t start over with the basics of coding,
but pick up where they left off. Instructors serve as guides
and coaches to small groups of campers as they build a
complex game of their own. These games will feature advanced concepts like Game AI (Artificial Intelligence), game
physics, or multiplayer functionality. After camp, campers
will be able to share projects with and continue working on
projects through online access. Register one week prior to

Coding Web Development
Campers will use the computer programming foundations
they learned in Scratch to advance to web development in
HTML, Javascript, and CSS. Camp Instructors will teach the
fundamentals of web design and development, building on
the knowledge they bring from Scratch. Campers will build
a web site and game of their own, but it doesn’t stop there:
after camp is over, students will be able to share projects
with family and friends, and can continue expanding on their
project using our online access. Register one week prior to
camp! Prerequisites: At least 2 Coding with Kids classes,
graduation from Level 1 classes, or completion of Intermediate After-School camp.

Eco Quest Camp
OUTDOOR ADVENTURES
This camp program is designed to teach young people the value of sustainability and caring
for our Earth. PenMet Parks works in partnership with the Pierce County Environmental
Educators and Harbor WildWatch to provide quality curriculum and activities. Learn how
the Earth filters water by experimenting with your own filter design or learn how salmon
behave by becoming salmon in a tag game! Campers also engage in active recreation like
hiking, kayaking, geocaching, and beach- combing (decided by camp location) and create
art using upcycled materials. Also, teambuilding concepts are taught through adventures
in the great outdoors. Register one week prior to camps!

Kayaking Camp
Learn to kayak, explore the rich maritime heritage of Gig Harbor and discover the marine

Skyhawks Flag Football Camp

Skyhawks Mini Hawk Camp
This multi-sport program was developed to give children a
positive first step into athletics. The essentials of baseball,
basketball and soccer are taught in a safe, structured
environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus
on fun. Our Mini-Hawk games and activities were designed
to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/
eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace.

Skyhawks Soccer Camp
Skyhawks Flag Football is the perfect program for young
athletes who want a complete introduction or for those who
simply want to brush up on their skills in preparation for
league play. Through our “skill of the day” campers will learn
skills on both sides of the ball including the core components of passing, catching, and de-flagging or defensive
positioning - all presented in a fun & positive environment.
The week ends with the Skyhawks Sports Bowl, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills on the gridiron!

Skyhawks Lacrosse Camp
Using progressive curriculum, Skyhawks’ sport - specific
staff will ensure your young athlete will gain the technical
skills & sport knowledge required for their next step into
soccer. This camp focuses on dribbling, passing, shooting,
and ball control. Learn new life skills such as teamwork and
sportsmanship, make new friends, and improve your sport
skills for the playground or league play. Register one week

Lacrosse combines the basic skills used in soccer, basketball, and hockey into one fast paced, high scoring game.
Athletes will learn all the fundamentals of stick handling,
cradling, passing, and shooting, all in a fun, non-checking
environment. Our staff will ensure that campers not only
learn the sport of lacrosse, but also important life skills
such as respect, teamwork, and discipline. Every athlete will
come away with a deep understanding of the game and its

Golf:
First Tee: Little Drivers Camp NEW!
This camp is an introduction to the game of golf using SNAG
equipment (Starting New at Golf). This will be a great way
to get your kids involved with The First Tee of South Puget
Sound where they can learn the basics of chipping, putting,
pitch shots and full swings. The camp will be all activity
based to keep the kids engaged and having fun as they learn
the basic concepts of the game of golf. We will incorporate
other games into the week as well such as SNAG Baseball
and Capture the Flag. Every activity will be golf based with

Junior Golf Camp
Learn to play golf this Summer! The Junior Golf program has
been helping kids learn to love the sport for over 30 years.
Learn all golf aspects: full swing and short game skills,
rules and etiquette and on-course play. We provide a safe

Theater Camp - Let’s Put on a Play!
