SICILY, PAESTUM AND AMALFI After a relaxing day at sea, you come to Taormina on the island of Sicily. With its mountainous background and spectacular views of Etna, the Graeco-Roman theatre is our morning destination. In the afternoon you cruise through the Strait of Messina and later pass by volcanic Stromboli – hoping for a magical firework display. From Salerno there’s a visit to Paestum. Legend has it that Paestum was founded by Jason of Argonaut 2 NIGHTS IN VENICE fame. What is undoubted, however, is the majesty of the three Greek temples that were the heart of this 6th century Greek city. In the afternoon, you cruise along the delightful Amalfi coast to Sorrento.
