Positive Change, held on Friday, June 24, 2016, from 5:30 to 10pm at Strawberry Farms in Irvine.
Knowing that you care deeply about enhancing the quality of life in our community, I invite you to
sponsor our signature annual fundraiser. Mariposa is celebrating 39 years of providing highquality and low cost, mental health services to over 3,000 Orange County women, men and
children of all ages each year. Mariposa is particularly dependent upon partners like you to

ABOUT MARIPOSA
Founded in 1977, Mariposa Women and Family Center provides comprehensive, high-quality
and low-cost mental health and substance abuse counseling, life skills and supportive services
to over 3,000 women, men and families each year. Over 93% of our clients have extremely low
incomes, and we provide the essential help they desperately need but cannot otherwise afford.
We expanded our services by opening an office in San Juan Capistrano and are now serving
23% more clients!
Mariposa’s individual, couples, family and group counseling services include:
 Substance abuse prevention, education, treatment and recovery
 Domestic violence and divorce recovery counseling and support
 Parenting, life skills and anger management trainings
 Ongoing therapeutic support groups for men, women, teens and children
 Grief support groups and counseling
 Occupational therapy assistance such as time management, money management, goalsetting and decision-making, job skills, problem-solving, stress management that lead
to self-sufficiency and productivity
 Counseling to poor and disadvantaged women needing special mental health help as
they return to the work force
 Outreach to schools, jails and shelters
 Free on-site Spanish/English bilingual child care for parents receiving services
 Availability of counseling 9 am to 9 pm weekdays and partial days on Saturdays
 Eight on-site 12-step programs and other ongoing self-help groups (such as AA, MA,
OA, CODA, Socializing Anxiety and Debtors Anonymous)
