Joining The Silver Fox Marching Band
Becoming a Part of Something Great!
Commitment, Dedication, Discipline and Determination
There are mandatory practices, mandatory performances, and mandatory
fees that must be paid (or fundraised) in order to participate in the Silver
Foxes Marching Band. All of our preparation occurs before school starts
and when the Semester begins-all marching practices occur before or
after school. If there are major conflicts, we recommend that YOU DO
NOT sign up for Marching Band.

Performance for our Faculty/Staff Veterans-
Band Members are required to be prepared in having their supplies and
fees taken care. Also, members are required to be attentive and prepare
their music and/or routine for our halftime shows.
Students that are in sports may participate in Marching Band, but
depending on the sport, i.e. Football, Volleyball and Swimming, there
may not be room to accommodate both Marching Band and Sports.
Sports such as Cross Country, Basketball, Track & Field, Soccer, Golf,
Softball, and Baseball have few conflicts.
What Do You Need To Know/ What Do You Need?

students that want to be in the Drum Line must attend the Audition
Camp May 8-12, 4:30-6PM in the Band Room. After selection in May
Annual Veterans Day Breakfast.

2017, Drum Line members will be required to attend summer practices.
Our Drum Line competed at the Eastwood
A complete schedule will be given in May. A Contract must be
Throwdown Competition.
EXTRA CONDITIONING!!!
Percussion/Drum Line will be selected by the Directors. All those
understood and signed before full acceptance.

All young ladies interested in our Dance Ensemble, ADAGIO will have a
camps/clinics in March 29-31. After the 2017 ADAGIO is selected, these

young ladies are expected to attend practice during the summer. A

PHYSICALLY FIT (AT LEAST TRYING!):

ALL Woodwind & Brass players are expected to attend our music
meet in the Band Room.

Freshmen/New Member Camp is MANDATORY. This is where you learn
about marching, group physical training, and everything you will need to
know to be successful in our BAND! The dates are July 26,27 & 28. We
will meet in the Band Room. Times are 8:00am-12 Noon. Full
Camp/Practice Schedule will be on the website in May 2015. A
Contract must be understood and signed before full acceptance.
Time Commitment
Being a member of the Silver Foxes
Marching Band does require you to
devote a good deal of time during the
summer (in August, expect 6-8
hours,daily )When school starts up to 8
hours per week outside the school day.
Members are required to attend every
game, several competitions, and extra.
The month of October and the first
weekend of November is when our Band
Contest occur-DO NOT SCHEDULE
VACATIONS, TRIPS AND/OR
QUINCEANERAS DURING THIS TIME. You
will have the possibility of losing your
spot in the show.

If you play a woodwind or brass
instrument, your financial
commitment is $120 [$30uniform fee, $ 90 operation fee].

If you are in the Drum Line /Front
Line Percussion, you are
expected to pay $120 [$30uniform fee, $90 operation fee].

If you are a Dance Ensemble you
will coordinate fees with Ms.
Ramos/Adagio Dance Coach.
First Things First!

If you are going to attend Silva Magnet, make sure your
application/paper work is completed, turned in, and
processed early in the semester.

Same goes for students that will attend Jefferson High
School, especially if you are a transfer student.

Make sure your decision to be in the marching band is
thought out with your family. Time commitment, financial
considerations, and transportation issues must be
discussed.

REMEMBER that if you miss rehearsals, especially our New
Member and/or Our Full Camp you will NOT BE
GUARANTEED a spot in the Halftime Show!

Band is a year long commitment. In the Fall Semester, we
have marching band. In the Winter/Spring, we are
involved in Concert Band, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble,
and Symphony Orchestra.

from each member’s family! Parent/Family of our
members are EXPECTED to help as Boosters or as
Volunteers and support by attending every event
