The Courtyard at East Woods The Courtyard at East Woods Innovation • Imagination • Outdoor School & Community Learning Center Innovation • Imagination • Outdoor School & Community Learning Center Project Description The proposed Innovation, Imagination and Outdoor School & Community Learning Center in The Courtyard at East Woods is part of the vision of the Hudson City School District to extend space for the classroom, as well as, provide an outdoor amphitheater for students, Hudson Community Education and Recreation and community members for performances, activities and events. The enclosed courtyard is large enough to hold up to 150 people. The enclosed aspect of The Courtyard at East Woods provides a unique space for Reader’s Theater, Plays, and inspirational spaces for reading, Project Description writing, math and outdoor research. With projection capability, the space can be used for classes, movies and presentations for all ages. The Courtyard at East Woods is a space unique to Hudson and can also be used for small venue musical performances and art installations. Green spaces and living labs for the growing and care of plants will provide a wonderful opportunity for partnering with Hudson organizations who teach the art and science of growing, gardening and composting. In addition, the outdoor seating and learning areas of The Courtyard may also provide a unique space for meetings when Ohio weather is at its best, day or night. The Courtyard at East Woods offers a safe environment for all children and youth activities and events with its natural enclosure. The Hudson City School District has relied heavily on private and charitable donations to fund facilities such as these that serve both our students and the community. To date, The Courtyard at East Woods project has raised $40,000 through grants and donations for the funding of the project.
