Trish Cacciola – Hudson Cook, LLP Trisha recently joined Hudson Cook, LLP as a Partner. Prior to joining Hudson Cook, Trisha was an Assistant General Counsel and Executive Director of Chase Auto Finance since 1998. During Trish’s career with Chase, she handled matters in all facets of the auto finance business, including regulatory exam management, manufacturer partnerships, fair lending, originations, servicing, collections, defensive litigation, floor plan, marketing, e-commerce, software/vendor contract drafting/negotiation and lobbying. She was also the subject matter expert for Chase Auto in connection with the Securitization and Like Kind Exchange Programs. Previously, Trish was with the Legal Department of Bank of America’s predecessor financial institutions, Barnett Bank and NationsBank, for five years, supporting consumer and commercial auto finance programs. Susan Chylik – McGlinchey Stafford, PLLC Susie E. Chylik is an Associate in McGlinchey Stafford’s Cleveland, Ohio office. She focuses her practice on consumer finance regulatory and compliance matters. Susie regularly advises state and national banks, automotive and personal property finance companies, mortgage lenders and servicers, and small loan lenders on a variety of compliance and regulatory matters, including licensing, rates and fees, substantive conduct, business planning, risk management, and other operational considerations. She has particular experience assisting creditors and servicers with issues concerning payment processing, debt collection practices, commercial financing, and vehicle and personal property leasing. His practice includes the representation of banks and finance companies advising them on state and federal regulatory compliance for consumer documentation, CFPB supervision preparedness and regulatory, examination, and enforcement matters, e-commerce, underwriting, acquisitions and divestitures, warehouse and other commercial financing, insurance, and structured finance. Mark focuses on multi-state and federal law compliance, business planning, and risk management for personal property financing, with a particular emphasis on motor vehicle financing and leasing for captive and independent finance companies, and Buy Here Pay Here dealers and related finance companies. Tom Hudson – Hudson Cook, LLP Thomas B. Hudson has practiced consumer financial services law since 1973. He has focused his practice on matters relating to vehicle financing and leasing. Mr. Hudson is a partner in the California, Connecticut, DC, New York, and Maryland law firm of Hudson Cook, LLP, and chairs the firm. He is President of CounselorLibrary.com, LLC, and is the Editor-in-Chief of CARLAW®, a monthly subscription service that reports legal developments in the auto finance and lease business. Eric Johnson – Hudson Cook, LLP Eric L. Johnson assists national and state banks, savings associations, credit unions, mortgage bankers, other licensed lenders, and motor vehicles dealers in the development and maintenance of nationwide consumer mortgage and automobile finance programs; online motor vehicle sales assistance programs; tax lien lending programs; electronic payment programs; and assists DMS providers on documents and software with federal and state law compliance, provides responses to regulator examinations, provides comments on proposed statutes and regulations to legislators and regulators; and assists financial services providers with statutory and regulatory changes occasioned by the Dodd-Frank Act. Terry O’Loughlin – Reynolds & Reynolds Terrence J. O’Loughlin is presently the Director of Compliance for Reynolds & Reynolds. Prior to joining Reynolds in 2006, he was employed by the Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida, since 1990, in the Economic Crimes Section. For most of those years he was involved in the investigation and prosecution of automobile dealers, manufacturers, and finance and leasing companies. For the Attorney General, he led a task force which examined in excess of 60,000 motor vehicle files of which Terry has personally examined over 5,000. He settled with over 1,500 vehicle dealers for a total amount in excess of $15 million. He was the mediator of Florida's Motor Vehicle Lease Disclosure Act, a statute which he assisted in drafting. He has served as a consultant to the Federal Reserve Board's Leasing Education Committee, an observer/advisor for the Uniform Consumer Leases Act committee, and a consultant to "PrimeTime Live," "Dateline," and various other media and publications. In addition, Terry routinely assisted numerous states agencies nationally regarding motor vehicle fraud. Terry has authored magazine articles for Consumer's Digest, At Home With Consumers, F & I Magazine, Consumer's Research, and Going Places. He was also published in the 1st edition of the Encyclopedia of Finance and Insurance Management. Shaun Peterson – MacMurray, Peterson & Shuster Shaun Petersen concentrates his practice on assisting businesses within the automotive industry comply with consumer protection regulations. Shaun serves as Legislative/Regulatory/Compliance Counsel to the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association. He also represents the Ohio Independent Automobile Dealers Association. In addition, Shaun has represented both independent and franchise dealers, auto auctions, finance companies, service contract companies, and marketing firms, among others. He has appeared on behalf of these clients before federal and state courts, federal agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, state Attorneys General and other regulators. Shaun has appeared as a guest speaker in many conferences and provided numerous media interviews on the topics of federal and state consumer protection laws, particularly those affecting the automotive industry. He currently serves as general counsel for NIADA. Gerald Sachs – Paul Hastings Gerald (Gerry) Sachs is of counsel in the Global Banking and Payment Systems practice at Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Mr. Sachs was Senior Counsel for Policy and Strategy of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB) Office of Enforcement. At the CFPB, he assisted the office with strategic planning, drafting internal policies and procedures, coordinating with state and federal regulators, conducting investigations, providing supervisory exam support, and working on intra-agency initiatives.
