How to Use a Flip Camera to Record Your Auditions with Bob Johnson, Videographer and Editor
7:00 — So, you’ve been asked to record a video as your audition. It might sound intimidating but it’s not. In this workshop, learn how to use your Flip camera, iPhone or
other pocket video recorder to record a video audition that can increase your chances of getting a “go-see.” In his workshop, videographer and editor Bob Johnson will
discuss what what you want to include and avoid in an audition video. He will offer advice that includes how to dress, what type of make-up to use, the use of props and
memorization vs. using sides. Bob also will focus on the basics of shooting, lighting, background, the best types of cameras to use, editing, the best places to post your
audition and, also, how you can purchase the equipment you need for less than $100. Bob will shoot several video auditions in the workshop and offer basic video editing
tips -- as well as provide the opportunity to watch and critique the videos.

10:00 — 4 weeks. Good acting is good acting, whether it’s on a stage, in front of a camera, or behind a mic. Advertisers are not looking for a voice, they’re looking for
a person. The breakdown of a casting session repeatedly says “a regular person, casual, non-announce, no sell.” Your job is to bring that regular person to the mic. In
these 4 sessions, our goal is to discover YOUR VOICE. Your voice as a mom or dad, a teacher, a truck driver, an employee, a friend... You will explore your instrument
through various kinds of current copy, discovering and expanding your range as you work. And you will be coached according to your needs. Every actor, every voice is
unique. You will get the individual attention you deserve as well as working on the techniques needed to pursue a voice-over career. Major emphasis is placed on script
analysis. You will be trained to view the black and white words as a goldmine to explore on your way to delivering reads that are not only professional, but highly considerate
of the buyers intentions. Individual vocal problems are addressed, such as glottal attacks, throat or mouth tensions, or breathing issues. You will work at the mic at every
class. And the learning that happens as you listen to your peers is invaluable--you get to hear what works and what doesn’t. In the 4th class, TOP NY V/O Casting Director
Elizabeth Gans will come in and give feedback on everyone’s work as well provide insight into the V/O industry. Limited to 12 actors.

Treatment starring Gabriel Byrne. In this four week on-camera class, Roz will be covering on-camera basics, script analysis, cold reads, and techniques for working with
camera, script and reader. Roz will also be giving you website research as well as great business tips. Perfect for the actor transitioning from stage to screen or wanting to

back from these projects is almost impossible and often when you do get it back the quality is so bad you can’t use it. So what do you do? In our new 5 week class, you’ll
have the opportunity to work ON SET and acquire usable footage to help develop and SHOWCASE your on-camera demo reel. Film casting director Eve Battaglia will work
with you on two contrasting short film/tv scenes that will be shot on location with filmmaker and editor Michael Stever. In the first class, you’ll meet with Eve and Michael
