What did the children say about Tudor Day?
Wow! That’s one of the best days of my life
and I mean it! Writing with quills is easier than
it looks and sounds. Queen Elizabeth I looked
phenomenal! (Her favourite game is exactly the
same as mine!)
Tudor dancing is extremely fun – my second favourite dance! My costume was
uncomfortable, but I enjoyed dressing up.
Elijah
I have learned to bow and dance in Tudor times. I was excited when Queen Elizabeth
I came.
Reuben
I enjoyed getting dressed up like Edward II because it made me feel like a real Tudor
boy. I also enjoyed seeing the artefacts with Mr Adby. I liked writing with a quill.
Charlie M
Today I have mainly enjoyed the part where we got to see and feel some of the
things that the Tudors used. What I liked most was writing our names with quills. I
also enjoyed learning Tudor dances and showing them to Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth I.
Tom S
I’ve had an amazing day today and I’ve learned how to do lots of cool stuff like how
to do Tudor dancing and writing. I loved it at the end but Queen Elizabeth looked
scary.
Kitty
I loved Tudor Day so much, especially seeing how the rich Tudor children dressed. I
think they must have got very hot wearing so many layers. I found out lots of
interesting facts including this: boys, from the ages of five to eleven, sat under the
table at dinner parties and if anyone needed the toilet, they would hold up a jug for
them! The girls had the job of washing the fabric that was used as toilet roll! Thank
you to everyone who helped to organise such a great day.
Martha
I thought Tudor Day was great. I really liked it when the queen arrived and we did
some dancing for her. I learned that Henry VIII was jousting and go t knocked off his
horse and was unconscious and then he started to put on weight. It was really fun
when we looked at some historical Tudor objects and we wrote with an actual quill
pen!! It was really exciting seeing all of our class dressed up from Tudor times.
Hannah
I really liked today because I liked doing Tudor dancing and games. I just enjoyed all
of the Tudor Day. I would give 10 / 10 today because I liked all of it, it was great. I
also liked writing with a quill. The day was the best day in the world.
Drew
I really enjoyed the arrival of the queen and it was really serious. I liked the quill
writing and the Tudor artefact activity. The best part was the dancing. It was a good
experience and I learned more things that I didn’t know. It was a brilliant day.
Luke
I liked seeing everyone dressed up and I liked the dancing. I had a wonderful day. It
was great.
Imogen
Queen Elizabeth I looked stunning! I liked writing with quills. I thought that was the
best day ever! I liked everything. Thank you Ms Griffiths.
Jessica
The part I loved today was when I got dressed up as a Tudor girl. It was an amazing
day.
Thank you Ms Griffiths.
Lucy
Tudor Day was epic! I loved everybody’s costumes. The dances were great and
exploring the Tudor artefacts was cool. The clothes they wore were really interesting.
Apparently, Queen Elizabeth I took two hours to get dressed. The teachers are
wonderful. If I were you, I would tell your teachers to book this day for your school.
Ten out of ten – absolutely brilliant!
Chloe V
I really enjoyed today because I loved the part where we used the quills to write our
names. It was a stunning day!
George
My thoughts are happy and overwhelmed to be doing dancing in front of the queen.
I was inspired by the objects like to loo and how people used them, how they made
fire by scraping a rock, stone or pebble, and their jobs. The whole day was the best
ever. Thank you.
Holly-Mae
I have learned a lot. Queen Elizabeth I looked beautiful. I’ve had the best time in the
world. I hope we will have a day like this again.
Paige
I really enjoyed Tudor Day because it has been full of facts and interesting things.
We looked at some artefacts and we discussed what we thought they were made of
and what they were used for. I also experienced writing with a quill. The part I
enjoyed most of all was having Queen Elizabeth I. We had to bow to her and
entertain her by dancing and playing games. I really enjoyed today and I hope we
have another Tudor Day soon.
Amy
The experience was amazing! I loved today and if I could, I would do it again. We
had the best time looking at artefacts.
Megan
I thought that Tudor Day was a big success, especially the arrival of the queen. I
enjoyed writing with a quill and using the Tudor artefacts to find out about Tudor
living.
