Review the three branches of the federal government from the sheets from bens.gpo.gov 2. Write the three branches on the board. 3. Have the students take turns adding information under the correct branch, (makes laws. under legislative...) 4. Pass out the Branches of the Government puzzle 5. Review the procedure for filling in a crossword puzzle 6. Have a student read and give the answer for 1-across 7. Have another student read and give the answer for 2down 8. Have the students fill in the rest of the puzzle individually as a test. 9. Collect the puzzles, correct them, and return Assessment/ Evidence The teacher can assess the students' knowledge by their oral answers and the written information added to the crossword puzzle.
