Contact a TIC or s01842 760116 T H E B R E C K S C OUNT RY CO DE Take care of the Brecks; take care of yourself Roads - Beware fast traffic on straight Brecks roads. Take great care when crossing or turning right and watch out for deer and wildlife on verges and crossing roads. Fire - Guard against all risk of fire. The Brecks can be tinder dry in summer. Ticks - Guard against tick bites which may carry Lyme Disease. Remove any embedded ticks with a gentle, twisting pull using tweezers. Dogs - Keep dogs under close control. They can be a serious menace to sheep, deer and other wildlife. Snakes - Adders may bite dogs and humans if alarmed. Keep calm and seek prompt medical 20 attention if bitten. Military Activity - Stanford Training Area is used day and night by the Army for live firing. Be prepared for sudden troop movements and loud noises. Car Thieves - Don’t leave your valuables in view. Flints - Flints can be razor sharp. Don’t forget your bicycle puncture repair kit.
