CAC’s Bulletin for Sunday, June 14, 2009 Official Site: cac.us.com • CAC Live: caclive.ning.com • Church: (304) 624-4459 Pastor: [email protected] • Home: (304) 624-1388 • Cell: (304) 629-1196 Last Sunday AM Pastor Joseph taught another installment in the series on Relationships, a continuation of Part 4: Marriage Partnership. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of companionship. The older women in the church should teach the younger women to love their husbands and children, and to be keepers at home. We should discipline our children in love. If you don’t discipline, you hate your child. When you do spank, the Bible says don’t back off because of the crying. If you don’t discipline your child, you will have no peace. Practice discipline consistently. If you don’t, then you will have many more disciplinary problems. You will seldom have to discipline him if you are consistent. Don’t give in to your child’s manipulations. If you correct your child, he will give delight to your soul. Children need boundaries (rules to be accounted for). It is the parent’s job to teach their children to love God and truth. Sunday PM Pastor Joseph preached “Sign Seeking And Other Vanities” using Luke 11:14-30. After Jesus had just cast a devil out of a man, many men doubted and asked for a sign because their heart was not right with God. When you are looking for an excuse to backslide you will find a million. If you don’t see eye to eye with God it is easy to be persuaded to look the other way. There is coming a day when every man will answer to God for his words and actions. You must make up your mind that you are going to believe God. You are either 100% committed to God, or you are the enemy of God. When an unclean spirit is cast out of a man it will try to come back. It won’t get in if your heart is right with God. But if your heart is unclean it will come back in and be worse than it was before. Give your heart to Jesus and be fully persuaded that nothing is going to separate you from Him. Make the right choice: choose truth. Don’t be a sign seeker; seek a relationship with God. Wednesday Pastor Joseph taught the final installment on “The Marriage Partnership.” Topics covered: “The Christian Wife” and “Physical Relationship.” The Bible’s teachings for the Christian wife include: Submit to the husband’s leadership (Eph. 5:22-24, 33; Col. 3:18); Keeper of the home (Titus 2:4-5; Prov. 31:10-31); Love husband and children (Titus 2:4); Manage household affairs (Titus 2:5; Prov. 31:13-15, 21-22, 27); Contribute to the family’s economic stability (Prov. 31:16, 18, 24); Help and advise her husband (Gen. 2:18; Prov 31:12, 23, 26); Discipline and teach children, with husband (Prov. 6:20; Col. 3:20). The physical relationship in marriage is to be conducted in holiness (Heb. 13:4). The sexual relationship is sanctified in marriage, while outside of marriage it is sinful (I Cor. 6:13-20). There is a twofold purpose: (1) Procreation and (2) Consummation, maintenance, and strengthening of union. Spouses are not to deprive one another. There is to be mutual fulfillment (I Cor. 7:3-5) and mutual joy (Prov. 5:15-19; Song of S). Birthdays & Anniversaries Natural Birthdays • • • • • • Sis. Linda Ferrell (6/15) Sis. Send in your funny stories to [email protected] A little boy was in a relative’s wedding. As he was coming down the aisle, he would take two steps, stop, and turn to the crowd (alternating between bride’s side and groom’s side). While facing the crowd, he would put his hands up like claws and roar. So it went—step, step, ROAR, step, step, ROAR—all the way down the aisle. As you can imagine, by the time he reached the front the crowd was near tears from laughing so hard. The little boy, however, was getting more and more distressed from all the laughing, and was also near tears. When asked what he was doing, the child sniffed and said, “I was being the Ring Bear.” Three men were walking through the forest when they came upon a set of tracks. The first said, “Those are deer tracks.” The second said, “No, those are elk tracks.” The third said, “You’re both wrong, those are moose tracks.” They were still arguing when the train hit them.
