Upcoming College Representative Visits to CHS; All visits will take
place at 8:00 am in the Community Room unless otherwise noted**.

ATTENTION ALL INTERESTED IN WORKING BACKSTAGE FOR THE CHS
MUSICAL
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18th at 3:30 PM in the Choir Room
There will be an informational meeting to discuss
scheduling/commitment and assign jobs for backstage help for our
Spring musical. Jobs available include: Stage Crew (will help move
and prepare sets for the show); Make Up and Hair, Ushers.
Any CHS Student is Welcome to Attend!
Prom is a formal event and formal attire IS REQUIRED. Students
should look at the posters on the bulletin board to see what is
acceptable and what is not. There should be NO EXPOSED MIDRIFF.
Students who have questions about their attire should see Mrs.
Tyner BEFORE the night of prom. Students who do not follow the
dress code will be sent home and only allowed to return if they
change into something appropriate.
Sign-up for Prom 2015 will be from Monday, March 25 – Friday,
March 27. Juniors and seniors may sign-up before school in the
cafeteria or after school with Mrs. Tyner, room 214. Prom is
scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at the Community Center and
after-prom will be at the high school immediately afterwards.
Promenade will be held in the auditorium that night at 7 p.m. The
cost to attend prom is $30 per person and Carterville High School
seniors go for free. ALL STUDENTS MUST SIGN UP AND HAVE A
PERMISSION SLIP ON FILE IN ORDER TO ATTEND PROM. Prom
permission slips and guest forms are in the office. Please read over
carefully before turning in.
Carterville Varsity Scholastic Bowl team won the River to River
Conference championship in the tournament yesterday. Team
members are Jacob Stone (Captain), Aaron Goffinet, Hannah Tate,
Laura Tate, Harrison Thomas, Felicia Wildermuth, and Janessa
Wildermuth. Janessa was awarded a medal for being one of the top
scorers of the tournament.
Mandatory Boys track practices begin next Monday, March 2nd.
Meet at the field-house after school. Ask Coach Davis if you have
any questions.
Congratulations to wrestlers David Luper and Derek Mann for
competing last weekend at the IHSA State Wrestling Tournament!
Carterville Varsity Boys Basketball team plays this week at the West
Frankfort Regional. We play Wednesday night at 6pm. Come out
and support our team by wearing your white out shirts!
Congratulations to Jacob Stone for being named to the 2014-15
IHSA All State Academic Team. Jacob is only the 4th Carterville
student in our history to receive this award!
Congratulations to our CHS swimmers for their accomplishments at
the IHSA Sectional. Daniel Burgener placed 10th in the 500
freestyle and 13th in the 200 individual medley, Jacob Stone placed
5th in the 100 freestyle and 3rd in the 50 freestyle!

Spanish Students who are attending Cultural Event on Thurs 3/5 at
Marion Civic Center will meet bus at 8:45am in student parking lot &

iFest '15 Event from 8:30 am -11:30 am in CHS Gym, Friday, March 6
~ All invited! ~
**All Spanish I, Spanish II & NHS Volunteers who are participating in
this full half-day event will be excused to the Gym as per Friday's
schedule on March 6.

have a way to help! See a counselor if you’re having trouble
affording a prom dress.
Any Science Club member interested in going to Six Flags needs to
sign up in Mrs. Watson’s room. You must be signed up and paid by
3/5.
