Ongoing Events
GROCERY SHOPPING: Thursday mornings at 9:30. The van takes
Seniors grocery shopping at the Market Basket in Rowley. If you
would like to go, call the Council for pick-up @ 978-948-7637. Check
the monthly calendar for any date changes due to scheduling conflicts.
WELLNESS CLINIC: The next Wellness Clinic will be held in
January. Watch the next newsletter for the date.
SHINE COUNSELOR: Available on request to help answer your
questions on medical and health insurance. Call the Council at 9487637 for tel. numbers.
PODIATRIST: Next appointments will be on Fri. Dec. 28th, from
9:30-11:30 at the Council office. You must have an appointment to see
the doctor. Please call the COA to make an appointment. 948-7637.
LEGAL AID: If you are in need of some legal advice, please call the
Council, 948-7637, and we will give you numbers for legal assistance.
SCRABBLE: Want to have some fun? Come play Scrabble at the
Council on Mondays from 1:00 - 4:00. We play for fun. Beginners
welcome.
BREAKFAST & BINGO: Join us twice a month on Tues. mornings
at 9:30, for breakfast & bingo. It’s lots of fun. Meet new friends, win
prizes, and enjoy some breakfast, all for $3.00, each additional card
$1.00 each. ONE BINGO IN DECEMBER ON THE 11th.
RUMMIKUB: An interesting game, using tiles instead of a deck of
cards. It’s easy to learn. Come and join us every Wed., at 1-4 PM. No
charge.
KNITTING: The knitters club meets on Wednesday mornings from
10AM– 12 PM . Beginner knitters are welcome and encouraged. Come
in and enjoy conversation, snacks and knitting!
YOGA: This is relaxing yoga for “mature bodies” . Classes run
every Tuesday afternoon from 2:00-3:00PM through
December 11th. A new session of 4 classes will begin
Jan 8th , if attendance continues we will add 4 additional classes. You must be signed up to attend.

Noteworthy News
TRIAD Will not meet during the month of December. Remember, any
senior is welcome to join or attend the meeting.
Ladies Club Will meet on Wednesday, December 19th, at 4:00PM destination will be announced.
Men’s Club Will meet on Tuesday, December 11th at 11AM, destination will be announced.
Rowley Food Pantry Open Tuesdays from 10—12 noon. Rowley residents are welcome. Located at the rear of the Baptist Church Parsonage,
located next to the church at 153 Main Street,
Byfield Parish The Byfield Parish lunches will resume in March. Remember to always call the council if you plan to attend.
Yoga Classes Will continue after the Holidays. There will be 4 additional classes running through the month of January (beginning the 8th),
4 more will take place as long as attendance is kept up. Call the council
for sign up. All classes will be $3.00 each.

Scheuer will guide
you through various YOGA moves. Susan has
owned and operated Body Basics
Pilates Studio and personal training in Rowley. She has also
worked as a therapist for a cardiopulmonary rehab since 2001.
YOGA Continues for the
New Year
Classes will resume January 8th and
will run for 8 weeks as long as attendance is good. Classes are $3.00
each. Call the council to continue
with the new session or to inquire
about beginning in the new year.

FRIENDLY VISITORS NEEDED
We are looking for all those interested in
spending a bit of their spare time visiting
some of our at home seniors providing
much needed social contact and personal
attention. Whether you have an hour a
week, or an hour a month we would
really appreciate your time. There are no
special skills required just the desire to
make a difference in
somebody’s day. Just give
the council a call at (978)

care of the rest.
Please Recycle Prescription Bottles
Save your empty prescription bottles which will be sterilized and reused by those less fortunate. We
are trying to re use some of these
very costly bottles that are just filling up our landfills. Just be sure
they are empty and we will take
them at the COA to distribute where
they are needed.

DOCUMENTS TO SHRED?
Bring your unwanted personal documents to
the council on Thursday, Dec 20th, from 24 PM where you will have access to the
shredder available for use by all seniors.
You can shred personal or outdated important documents as well
as old or expired credit cards. Come in and try it. Call for other
available times.
HEARING TESTS
Tues Jan 8, 2007 from1-4PM. Our
hearing specialist Joe Saofein will be
here to evaluate your
hearing. Call the council
for your appointment.
There’s no charge for
this service.
COA Offers Line Dancing at the Rowley VFW
Line Dancing classes. will be continuing indefinitely. See the instructor for details. They will continue to be held on Thursdays from 2 pm to 3:30 pm. It is a
beginners class and always a lot of fun. Cost is still $4.00. per session. If you
are interested call the COA to sign up.

then call us to let us know if you wish to discontinue getting your newsletter in the mail.

can begin saving trees and money on postage.
