2017 PAEA Education Forum Presentation Format Descriptions Poster Presentation Poster presentations are a medium through which PA educators can display their scholarship in the area of either original research or educational innovations. This format requires authors to print research results on finished posters, approximately 90 inches wide by 40 inches high. They will be displayed on horizontal poster boards 8 feet wide by 4 feet high (96 inches wide by 48 inches high). There will be two poster presentation sessions scheduled on Friday, October 27, and Saturday, October 28, for one hour each. These are not formal presentations. The sessions are open to all Forum attendees to informally ask questions of the presenters and discuss the poster contents. Educational Research – Posters in this category describe original research and must include evidence of data collection and analysis at the time of submission. Preliminary results are adequate to meet this requirement, but submissions without data will not be accepted. Topic examples • Evaluation of Self-Selection of Clinical Rotations • Interprofessional Experiences in PA Education • Admissions and Student Performance as Predictors of Success Educational Innovations – Posters in this category allow PA educators to highlight and share educationally based activities (classroom, clinical, or community-based) that represent creative problem-solving approaches to educational dilemmas; activities that may not reach the level of rigor in data collection and analysis expected of original educational research. Some type of project outcome must be included, however; examples of this are student generated Likert-scale course evaluations or peer review results. Submissions without evaluation will not be accepted. Topic examples • Instituting Wellness Components Into the Didactic Curriculum • Managing Student Indebtedness: An Interactive Workshop • OSCE Reflections: Helping Students Process Powerful Educational Experiences Research Brief Presentation Time Allocation: 15 minutes (presentation), 5 minutes (Q&A) = 20 total minutes 2017 PAEA Education Forum – updated February 2017 Research briefs enable PA educators to present their scholarship in the area of either original research or educational innovations.
