Re: Filming on Trafalgar Square on Sunday 21st February 2016
I am writing to inform you of our intentions to film scenes for a new Warner Brothers feature
film in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 21st February 2016. We plan to recreate the Armistice
celebrations in Trafalgar Square in 1918 with the atmosphere and look of WW1 London.
In order to achieve the early 1900s appearance of the area we are proposing to close the
roads leading into Trafalgar Square from 07:30 – 10:30 on Sunday 21st February. We intend
to facilitate all local access during this time to any areas within the closure points. Please
see the provisional map attached for what we have put forward to the City Council and
Transport for London.
Whilst our filming will be taking place on Sunday we will require time to prepare for this on
Saturday 20th to ensure our filming and impact to the area is minimal on the Sunday. There
will be no road closures on our prep day but sections of the North Terrace and main body of
Trafalgar Square will be sectioned off from the public to facilitate this, all access points to,
from and around the North Terrace and main body of the Square will be maintained.
To achieve our plans, we are working closely with all the stakeholders involved, particularly
the Greater London Authority, Westminster City Promotions, Events and Filming Team,
Transport for London and The Metropolitan Police Film Unit. Whilst we appreciate our
presence will have an impact on the local community, we will be working hard to minimise
the disruption as much as possible. Members of my location team will be in the area over the
coming weeks to meet with local residents and businesses to discuss any concerns you may
