Definition: population density is the mathematical
calculation of how many people live in a square kilometer
of land (people/km2)

Population density is higher in urban areas than it is in
rural areas
 90% of Canadians live within 600km of the border of the U.S.
 This means that almost all the people in Canada are living on only
10% of Canada’s land
