SUB: APPLICATION F0R SELECTION AS CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBER OF
THE CHILD WELFARE COMMITTEE
The State Government shall have to constitute for every district, one or
more Child Welfare Committees [CWC] for exercising the powers and to discharge
the duties confened on such CWCs in relation to the children in need of care and
protection in consonance with the provisions contained under sub section [1] of
section 27 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
The CWC shall consist of a Chairperson, and four other members of whom
at least one shall be a woman and another, an expert on the matters concerning
children.
Applications in the prescribed format are hereby invited from eligible and
interested persons for functioning as Chairperson and Members of the CWCs of the
seventeen districts viz. Angul, Balasore, Bargarh, Boudh, Deogarh, Dhenkanal,
Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, Kendrapara, Khurda, Koraput, Malkangiri,
Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Sambalpur
& Subarnapur whose tenure of three
years
shall be completed during September 2016.
Applications for the additional CWC for the district
of Khurda are also
hereby invited for the aforestated purpose.
The details of eligibility criteria, other conditions and format for application
are available in the website of this Department, (htlp-/wgwUqd.gdiqh3g.gy.in) and
that of the Odisha State Child Protection Society (www.oscps.nic,in) which may be
accessed / downloaded.

No person shall be considered for selection as a Chairperson or Member of the committee, if

PROCESS OF SELECTION:

All the applications received within the stipulated period in the office of the District Child
Protection Unit of the District concerned shall be opened by the District Level Screening Committee
chaired by the Collector of the District concemed or any other senior offlcer like ADM / Project Director,
DRDA authorised by him in the presence of the applicants

representative is found absent for whlch the District Level Screening Committee would not be able to
