State Chapter News
FLORIDA
Ray and Earline Campbell, Florida COM, have a passion for
sharing COM with others. In the last year they have
recruited 10 new couples to join Florida COM.
Here is how they go about sharing at churches (in there own
words)
I have found that if I call the pastor of the church and ask if
we can have a display for COM they are very willing for us
to come and share about COM
This picture (below) is what we did yesterday at Immanauel
Baptist Church in Pace Florida. We also have done two
other churches (Hillcrest Baptist main campus) Hillcrest
Baptist Satellite Church) so far this year.
We set up in the church foyer before SS, and all church
services. We get there at 7:45 and left at 12:30 at all three
churches. When they come by the display, we share about
COM projects especially about Blue Springs. We hand out
brochures to those interested. I made labels with our name,
phone number, and the e-mail address of the Florida COM
website and National website and put them on the back of
each brochure.
We have a sign up sheet for PROSPECTS. (It includes name,
phone number, email address with our info) so we can call
them back later to answer any questions. We ask them to go
to our Website and get more information and sign up for
COM membership if they are interested. We will call the
people a week or two later to see if they have any questions.
We had six (6 PROSPECTS) sign our information sheet
yesterday. I will call them back later this week.
The poster I made are in the center of the table. I have made
and gave out six or seven sets of posters of various sizes to be
used for displays. We place COM fans, decals, brochures on
SOUTH CAROLINA
SC Campers on Mission remained busy throughout the
Holiday season. In October, several couples were at White
Oak Conference Center working on their hotel buildings,
replacing railings, ceilings, and renewing some outdoor
furniture. Then in November, a group spent a week at
Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain, NC
helping to retrofit dorm rooms used by guests and
volunteers. Ridgecrest is one of our „dedicated projects‟
where we go each year and spend at least two weeks helping!
Also, in December, a family in need without an adequate
place to live was brought to the attention of a couple of
SCCOM members. Several SCCOM members were led to
get involved, and in less than two weeks immediately before
Christmas, funds were raised and a gently used 5th wheel
camper was found, paid for, and set up for this family!
Since additional funds have been raised and a permanent
well and septic system will be installed. GOD is good, all the
time!!
We just completed our Winter Gathering in Columbia, SC
with appx. 50 members in attendance. We were forced to
move the meeting from January 7 to the 14th due to ice and
snow, but the 14th ended up being 70 degrees so all ended
well. Greg Loner, pastor of Princeton Baptist Church,
Honea Path, SC did our devotion and shared songs with us.
Tim Rice from the SC Baptist Convention also shared things
that are going on at the Convention and around the state.
We had two crews leaving for projects in Florida after the
Gathering and also discussed several in state projects as
well. One is helping in building a new parsonage for
Princeton BC for Pastor Loner and his family. His wife, Dee
is recovering from some traumatic health issues and a larger
more accessible home is needed. We also have two churches
that we are going to help with over the next several months
as they build new larger churches due to growth. Both are
ground up metal buildings- one in Bennettsville, SC and the
other in Latta, SC.
Dates were tentatively set for out Spring Rally at Camp
Pinehill in Bennettsville, SC. The Rally starts on April 28 th
through the 30th followed by a work week at Camp Pinehill.
This is also one of our dedicated projects we visit each year.
The following week will be spent at Ridgecrest volunteering
again. It‟s going to be a busy Spring but that is what
Campers on Mission folks pray for- helping GOD grow his
Kingdom!!
ARIZONA
The Quartsize outreach was cold, windy and rewarding.
Despite the weather there were 17 Arizona COM rigs, and
several Colorado campers. The many workers made the
work light and the fellowship rewarding. As usual the ladies

It is time for Praise Reports to be turned in to your President
or designated person. In turn total report of membership
hours etc are sent to by President or designted person to the
national coordinator. Due May 1.
Email to: [email protected]
Notes for completing Annual Chapter Praise Report
1.
Nationwide each camper should only be counted once. To
prevent duplication of counting, the chapter should
contact each member that lives outside the chapter‟s
geographical area to determine if they are being counted
by another chapter.
2.
This number should not exceed total number of members
in chapter. If a member works on multiple projects
during the year, they still should only be counted once.
This number should represent the number of members in
your chapter that actively work on mission projects.
3.
% of members involved equals members involved
divided by total members in chapter. Not to exceed 100%.
4.
Include hours preparing for mission trip and time worked
at site, but do not include travel time.
5.
Count only those decisions made in the presence of
COM‟er that reported the decision being made.
6.
Count only those rededications made in the presence of
COM‟er that reported the rededication being made.
7.
Count only those other decisions made in the presence of
COM‟er that reported the other decisions being made.
8.
Total number of projects/events should equal total
number of projects/events listed and numbered below the
TOTAL NUMBER OF PROJECTS/EVENTS line.
9.
For types of projects/events not already listed, add them
on a OTHER TYPES OF PROJECTS/EVENTS line and
the number of that type of projects/events in the right
hand column.

10. Campers on Mission may work with other organized
mission efforts such as Disaster Relief, Baptist builders,
Wycliffe, Billy Graham, etc. that keep their own records
of work effort. But since the COM Praise Report is an
independent Praise report that is only used by the COM,
there can be no duplication of reporting. All work done
by campers as campers should be included in the COM
Chapter Praise report.
11. Bible studies are a multiple meeting events which include
a number of consecutive presentations of the gospel.
Devotions Held are single individual events such as
devotional held each day on projects, at campgrounds,
fairs or any other event that allows the COM‟ers to
present the Gospel as a devotion.

Regional Representatives (Brief Description)
The regional representative bears a heavy burden. He must
focus on keeping everyone in his region informed of mission
opportunities, prayer requests, and better organizational
operational methods while trying to help strengthen the
weaker chapters. These tasks require him to get involved with
each of the regional chapters. He will work on projects with
them and attend their rallies. He will join each regional
chapter to get on their communication distribution lists. He
will talk to and work on projects with as many of the
individual chapter members as possible. This is the business
model that Jesus chose. He wanted his disciples to place their
effort at the point of need, without concern for the
bureaucratic hindrances placed in their way by the Pharisees.
Can we do any less?
SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION 2017
