Covering 100 acres and attracting around 40,000 visitors every year, families flock to the park to peruse the trade stands, sample the delights of the Food Village and watch the plethora of show events – from dancing dogs to driving. Here are just some of the highlights to look forward to this year. The Imps From the sound of revving engines to the intense billowing fire jump and the suspense of a multiple motorcycle combination ‘cross-over’ routine, The Imps will have audiences’ mesmerised by their display of discipline and skill. For the little ones Children will be able to have more fun than ever before at the show. They can take to the track on mini quad bikes 8 | R&A GL7 TThis his year y The Cotswold Show is celeb celebrating 25 years and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever and Land Rovers, make a splash in water boats, go giddy Rov on the bouncy castles, monkey around tree climbing, plus be entertained at the fun fair, circus and model tent. Animal antics From pig handling to sheep shearing, ferret racing to rare breeds and poultry, the show will again be the weekend home of lots of animals in 2013. Experience the art of horse whispering and dancing dogs, as well as polo ponies and gun dogs, there will even be alpacas. Food Village Everyone loves local and there will be plenty of Cotswold producers keen to introduce themselves to you in the village. Pick your way through all the tasty treats and then take the kids along to take part in a cookery session with The Cotswold Chef Rob Rees. The Taste of Game from BASC will also be there to cook up some delicious game dishes for visitors to try. Visitors can watch in amazement as the ponies take the obstacles at great speeds and see how the drivers need fast reactions and steely nerves to guide the ponies through – sounds like nail biting stuff. expect a frenzy of clowns, juggling, acrobatics and magic! Country pursuits As ever, visitors will be able to get involved in plenty of Mans best friend Dogs have always been a big part of The Cotswold Show. This year you won’t want to miss the Cheshire Dog Display Team and the clever K9 Freestyle Dancing Dogs. You can enter your dog in the Fun Dog Show or even try out the Dog Agility Course. ow Falconry Village The Hawkeye Falconry Display Team, South Wilts Falconry and Chrissie’s Owls will be amazing the crowds with some majestic birds. Expect to see the aerial demonstrations of hawks, falcons and owls. pursuits. Circus antics For the first time the show is welcoming The National Festival Circus for the two days, promising to bring thrills and spills with their famous Big Top! With international acts showcasing the very best in circus entertainment, Making music Back by popular demand, The Cot swold Show is holding a Mus M ic i Festival on both Saturday and Sunday. Local bands and musicians will play in front of more than 40,0 00 people.
