Audition Letter with Schedules 2016

Auditions for Sacramento Ballet’s 2016 production of The Nutcracker will be held
September 7, 10 & 11, 2016. Please see schedule on the back of this letter for exact
roles and audition times.
Please note that there are three audition dates, and specific requirements of height and ability for
each role. There will be measuring stations outside the studios at the auditions to help you determine which
role your dancer may audition for, but official measurements will be taken inside. Parents are asked to stay
with their dancers until they go into the studio for their audition, but parents will not be allowed into the
Ballet building during the audition process. All attempts will be made to stay with the times listed on the
schedule, but please come prepared for possible delays due to large numbers of children auditioning.
Ron Cunningham’s The Nutcracker will open with its first public performance on December 10th and
runs through December 23rd at the Community Center Theater. There will be multiple casts of Soldiers,
Angels and Candy Canes (exact number to be determined at auditions) Cooks, Teeny Tiny Mice, Cherubs,
and Christmas Dolls. All other roles will have three casts. The dancer's role will determine the intensity of
their rehearsal schedule. Please check the role’s rehearsal schedules posted at the ballet website (by August
22nd) and at the studio when you arrive for the audition, to determine your dancer’s availability. All
rehearsals are mandatory!
If you have any questions, please visit the Sacramento Ballet website at www.sacballet.org, email or
email [email protected] or call (916) 732-3660.
Sincerely,
Kim Wilson
