Job purpose
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Control Risks’ Southeast Asia
CFI practice. We are a rapidly growing team of consultants, all with
experience in and a passion for the Southeast Asia region. The team is
based in Singapore, with smaller satellite offices in Jakarta and Yangon.
We are looking to hire a credible and motivated researcher to work in
our Mekong practice. The researcher will undertake integrity due
diligence, compliance and business intelligence investigations in
Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos, as well as assisting
with other investigations across Southeast Asia.
In this role you will conduct research, predominantly through desktop
analysis, but also learning to manage resources and building our
capabilities in the region. You will write clear, detailed and analytical
reports that effectively communicate your findings to our clients.
Researchers are full fee earners, ideally with previous experience
working in government, consultancy, risk management or other relevant
professional services (such as the law or media), with writing, other
communication and investigative skills to match.

Case management

Service business intelligence, compliance and other
investigative due diligence assignments, particularly the
research and writing of proposals and reports), under overall
supervision of a senior team member.

least one country in the region.

Maintain and develop new or enhanced sources and resources
in the region to improve the team’s investigative capabilities.




Essential:

Excellent verbal and written English reporting skills.

Educated to degree level.
Preferred

Ability to read and speak Thai, Burmese or Vietnamese (writing
not essential).

databases.

Network of investigative or research contacts and sources in at
least one country in the region.

Previous experience working in an investigative or research role.

Existing knowledge of the interplay between business and
politics in at least one country in the region.
