A Note From Ms. Lopez
Hello!
Can you believe there is just one more week before our
Thanksgiving break? We are having so much fun exploring our
fall concepts while developing our reading and writing skills.
Here are a few important reminders:
-PHOTO MAKE UP DAY is Friday, November 13th
If you haven’t taken a school photo or if you need to take
one because you are new to our school, plan for a free dress
photo day on Friday.
-TURKEY PROJECT DUE MONDAY! Don’t forget to help your
child complete and turn in their disguised turkey by next
Monday the 16th. We will be writing about it on Tuesday!
-BOOK FAIR: The book fair is coming next Monday and our
class will be visiting next Friday during our regular library time.
Feel free to send money with your child on Friday or you can
visit the fair with your child before or after school all next
week. Be sure to look through the book fair ad that came
home to help you make some choices. Plenty of fabulous
books to choose from. Thank you! Thank you!
Mrs. Ho

What Students are Learning this Week
Language: Letters and Sounds (Alphabet)
We moved right along with the alphabet and finally finished covering all letter
sounds.

We practice our handwriting with whiteboards and the letter school app as

monkey to sound out words phonetically in our writing. Each week we practice
writing our sight word and using it in sentences.
Writer’s Workshop: Thankful! The students worked on a special Thanksgiving

They used a graphic organizer to help form and write sentences.

Classroom Reminders
HOMEWORK: HW Journals are to be left at home
and worked on throughout the week. Please bring
them to school every Friday so that I can check
the progress. Soon, next week, you will be getting a
math workbook that will be for HW called “Home
Connections.” I will give more directions later, but
just be ready for it.
POETRY JOURNALS: Please make sure your child
practices poems throughout the week. They need
to bring their journals to school every FRIDAY. They
will be returned on Monday with a new poem.
SNACK & WATER: It is important that every child
bring a morning snack and water bottle everyday.
PLEASE PACK SEPARATELY IN BACKPACKS. This
gives them the energy boost they need to learn! ☺
TAKE A PEEK AT OUR WEEK: Don’t forget to check
out our class website. I will be adding fun pictures
and tidbits from our school days. It is ready for
your viewing!
BEHAVIOR CHART: Don’t forget to check and initial
your child’s behavior chart on a daily basis.
LIBRARY: Our library day is every FRIDAY. So be
sure pack your little one’s library book to avoid any
late books.
ATTENDANCE: If you know that your child will be
absent, please e-mail me and
[email protected].
