Bucket Filling in Room 214

Bucket Filling in Room 214
Have you filled a bucket today? The grade one and
two students in room 214 have been learning about
what it means to be a bucket-filler as part our health
program this
fall. The
students have
been
reading stories
from the
bucket filling
series,
which teach
lessons of
kindness. In the
stories we
learned that
everyone
has an invisible bucket that can
be filled
through acts of kindness. The students in room 214 have become
bucket-fillers themselves as they are practicing being kind to others and
using respectful language with their classmates. The students have also
been filling each other’s buckets
using
bucket slips. The students
brainstormed ideas of kind
things that
they could write to others that
would fill
their bucket, and wrote them on
a paper slip
that they put into their
classmate’s
bucket. Some of the students
even
surprised Ms. Rempel by filling her
bucket with
kind words! Overall, the students in
room 214
have shown kindness and consideration
towards
their classmates as they put their learning into practice. Room 214 will
continue to practice bucket-filling throughout the school year as they
learn to show kindness to not only others, but to themselves. Our class
encourages everyone to think about how they can be bucket-fillers too
by using actions and words to brighten someone’s day!
