2012 Swimming Sports Novelty Events

Points: 1st=40, 2nd=30, 3rd=20, 4th=10
1. Noodle Under and Over
Each house gets as many participants in the pool as possible-one house per lane.
M lane 2,
V lane 3,
O lane 4,
R lane 5
Noodle starts at far end and must be passed over head and under body (between legs)
down the line. Judges count how many participants (1 house point each). First house to
reach noodle to finish line wins the 40 points (2nd, 3rd, 4th points as above).
2. Width Race (Freestyle)
Line up on edge of pool (diving pool side) – judges count how many participants (1
house point each). On start, complete 2 widths Freestyle. Students who reach the edge
of the pool in the allocated time (40 seconds) receive another house point.
3. Golf Ball Event
Golf Balls will be thrown into the pool. When the whistle sounds, students are to enter
the pool. The students need to place as many balls as they can carry into the supplied
buckets on the side of the pool (one each side). Students are NOT to throw the golf balls
if a House does, they will be disqualified! The fastest House to get all their golf balls in
the bucket wins. Order: M, O, R, V.
4. Width Relay: Year 7-13
You need 2 boys and 2 girls from each Year Level (7,8,9,10,11,12,13 = 28 swimmers). They
are to complete one width freestyle each as a continuous relay (i.e. 28 widths) – in order
from Year 7 to Year 13 (girl/boy/girl/boy). Fastest house wins 40 points (2nd, 3rd, 4th points
as above).

5. House Uniform Relay: Year 7-13
You need 1 girl and 1 boy from each Year Level (7,8,9,10,11,12,13 = 14 swimmers) to swim
the relay (1 width each). You must be dressed in ‘UNIFORM’ (your House colour T’shirt
and shorts). Swim one width then remove the ‘uniform’ and pass onto next swimmer
until all swimmers have swum 1 width – in order from Year 7-13 (girl/boy).
NB if the house is NOT wearing your House colour
T’shirt and shorts CORRECTLY,
they will be disqualified.

6. Width Race (Breaststroke)
Line up on edge of pool (diving pool side) – judges count how many participants (1
house point each). On start, complete 2 widths Breaststroke. Students who reach the
edge of the pool in the allocated time (50 seconds) receive another house point.
Order: V, M, O, R.
7. Chariot Race:
8 senior students (4 boys and 4 girls) are to carry across the width of the pool and back,
a staff leader/member from their house. (Remember it is 2 widths). Fastest house wins
40 points (2nd, 3rd, 4th points as above).
House Relays
Select the fastest 2 boys and 2 girls from your house in each age group to swim the
house relay (4x50m). One length each. Fastest house wins 40 points (2nd, 3rd, 4th points
as above).
