The Beatitudes
Ministry Notes
to bringing the Gospel of Jesus to someone for the first
time. These are very small touches and very large
touches. I know Immanuel’s people can reach our 1000
touches goal.
Many congregations for the Southeastern District LC-MS
are participating in iNeighorhood. Our participation is the
1000 touches. This is a missional effort to take the love of
Jesus beyond the walls of our church. It is a reminder that
we are all missionaries in the places we live, work, and
play. In the coming months, you will read what other
congregations are doing in their iNeighborhood efforts.
1000 TOUCHES WITH JESUS!
Happy New Year! It’s time for New Year’s resolutions. If
you missed making them New Year’s Day, you haven’t
missed it. This new year make a vow to touch more lives
for Jesus.
With Advent, Immanuel began 1000 touches for Jesus.
This is a goal for the members of Immanuel to reach out
and make 1000 contact, touches, encounters with family,
friends, neighbors, and strangers with the love of Jesus.
This can be anything from a brief word of encouragement
1
You will also read how our own members have touched
lives for Christ.
CELEBRATING THE 500 ANNIVERSARY OF THE LUTHERAN
REFORMATION!
For the celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the
Reformation, I have several special items planned. Each
month, beginning November 2016, there will be an article
in the Herald on a famous “face” of the reformation.
There is a bible study to complement this. I will also offer
a video-based course “A Man Named Martin.” This threepart course will be given at different times for each multiweek part. I will offer the first beginning in winter, the
second in spring/summer of 2017 and the third will be
offered next fall. Finally, the Herald calendar will include
events from the reformation beginning this month and
continuing into Reformation 2017. Other possible Bible
Class (weekday or Sunday) topics include: The Lutheran
Identity (Confessional Writings of the Lutheran Church),
Lutheranism 101, The Lutheran Difference, History of the
Church from the Reformation until Today, and Lutheran
Spirituality. Please indicate to me your interest in any of
these courses.
Soon, you will find out how to share and track your
touches. Please participate in this process. It helps us
know if we are achieving our goal. It is also
encouragement for your brothers and sisters in Christ.
May God send His Spirit on you as you continue His
mission.
NEW CLASS BEGINS FOR SUNDAY ADULT BIBLE CLASS
With the completion of John’s Gospel, we turn our
attention to the catholic or universal Epistles. These brief
letters are rich with Gospel and the Love of Jesus. Adult
Class meets in the conference room Sunday mornings at
9am.
PASTOR ON VACATION
Pastor Minetree will be on vacation January 12th to 26th.

She will know who to contact.
THANK YOU!
