I love Valentine’s Day! What is there not to love? You
always have pretty cards, chocolate candy, beautiful
flowers, and expressions of love! I wanted to share a
poem that I found that I wanted to say to my wife. Lisa
is a wonderful wife and mother, and she is a saint to put
up with me and my schedule. Times have changed
through the years, and keeping up with the kids going
from here and there is almost a second full-time job at
times. She is always there and is my right hand in so
many things that I do. So Lisa, this is for you!
A pair of morning doves preen & prim
snuggled close on their favorite limb.
And cooing low wake a sleeping sun,
giving praise for a new day begun.
A sip of ghostly moon rides low,
wearing its light like a pale halo.
And Sol ascends master of the day,
piercing dark with a brilliant display.
Vapors shed crystalline tears on grass,
depositing dewdrops clear as glass.
And blooming flowers imbue the air,
with a fine fragrance beyond compare.
Tall, lanky palms of feathery leaf,
are clad in a green southern motif.
And skittish crabs play tag with the waves,
darting about their collapsing caves.
Sipping fine wine we enjoy the show,
greeting the day with a happy glow.
For as romance and nature combine,
I share my soul with my Valentine.
We have decided to have a special luncheon this month
with a shrimp dinner in honor of the family that is
looking over you now. So be watching for the
announcement coming soon on the date of this event in
February. We feel blessed to have such a caring
community that watches over each and every one of
you.

There are no symptoms of glaucoma
in the early stages. Once vision is
lost it cannot be restored. But
glaucoma can be detected before
any noticeable vision loss occurs.
Regular eye exams are the key to
protecting your vision. After the age
of 65, you should have your eyes
examined every 6-12 months.
Glaucoma cannot be cured, but it can
be controlled with medication and
surgery to prevent further vision loss.

of our favorite music by the Silvertones!
Anyone can get glaucoma, but people
with a family history and those over
the age of 60 are at a higher risk.

Glaucoma damages the eye’s optic
nerve and results in vision loss and
blindness. With glaucoma, fluid in
the eye drains slowly causing
pressure inside the eye to rise. This
pressure eventually causes damage
to the optic nerve. Once the optic
nerve is damaged, peripheral (side)
vision is affected causing narrowing
of the filed of vision. If it is left
untreated, total vision loss can occur.
