The editorial team commissions articles that are topical and relevant but also encourage students to

Theory of knowledge
There are dedicated TOK articles in each issue, starting
with ‘Imagining the universe: knowledge making in
mathematics’ and ‘The Bible: sacred text or historical
source?’, complete with questions and activities; plus
TOK opportunities flagged in all other major articles.
Highly visual centre pages
The centre pages of each issue will feature a visual
presentation of a topic to encourage classroom
discussion and debate.
Improve exam skills
Regular columns will address assessment of the IB
Diploma and the skills required to complete a successful
extended essay.
Feature articles for each of the subject groups
The launch issue includes feature articles on ‘Rock
climbing and mathematical problem solving’ for group
5: mathematics, ‘Five steps for tackling the unseen
appreciation’ for group 1: English literature, ‘From Guerilla
war to conventional war’ for group 3: history, and ‘An
introduction to fusion energy’ for group 4: science.
Creativity, action, service
Each issue includes a special feature that highlights the
best of CAS from around the world. Regular interviews
with IB alumni - ‘Student to student’ – will feature
graduates who are now shaping our world, and key IB
personnel will talk about the diploma, starting with
Dr Siva Kumari, director general, International
Baccalaureate.
