Summer Reading 2017 PVHS Assignment

Summer Reading 2017 PVHS Assignment- All Students
You will choose a book this summer on your own. It needs to be 100 pages, school appropriate,
and not another book you have read part of your English classes in the past. You will create a
multi-media presentation when you return back to school to sell your classmates on your
summer reading book. The purpose of the presentation is to provide book recommendations
for other students. You may use Prezi, iMovie, or TouchCast that includes the following
information:
1. Title & Author of the Book
2. Genre of the Book
3. The plot of the book is described, including main characters, setting, main conflicts. (No
spoilers!)
4. At least 2 quotes from the novel that you think are most important.
5. At least 5 images that capture the essence of the book. Images should be seen long
enough on the screen to peak/keep interest.
6. A soundtrack that goes along with the theme of the novel.
7. Movies must be a minimum of 90 seconds and no longer than 3 minutes.
8. Prezi presentations must be a minimum of 8 slides/ transitions.
In order to be successful with your summer reading, read your book and complete the
graphic organizer before school begins. You may bring the graphic organizer to class
while working on the multimedia component of your project on your iPad once school
starts back.
