The history of Café Obelix
The Property was build in 1867, back then the
premises was a butcher shop. In 1947 the premises
were changed to “Santos Kaffebar”, open from
6AM until midnight, and was primarily visited
by artisans. In 1975 Tonni Overmans took
over, at the time the selection was limited
to several kind of cofee, bread, beer
and wine. In 1995, the premises were
changed into a café, and the name
of the place became Café Obelix.
The property went throught
major renovation in 2000 and
in
2009 Søren Nissen took over.
Today we serve brunch, an
ordinary cup of coffee and
bread with cheese from 8AM.
Furthermore ther are a large selection
of beers, wines and spirits as well as a
dishes. And then there are the night
owls who at the weekend can hang out
at Obelix until bright morning light – as
a good alternative to a noisy, sweaty and
crowded discoteque.
