NEUROSPECT QUAD™ PHYSICAL & PARAMETERS
Power Requirements
Electrical Service
100 / 120 VAC ± 10%, 60/50Hz, 20 amperes, Dedicated
Receptacle
102-125 volts, 3 prong (Hospital grade.)
Line Regulation
105 volts AC to 125 volts AC.
Continuous Current
9 amps, maximum. Depends on number of modules
and system configuration.
Dedicated Power
1. One dedicated separate isolated line (free of
noise or transients and other electrical equipment) is
required for the camera. The dedicated power lines
must meet the minimum electrical service
requirements of 20 amps.
2. One dedicated separate isolated line (free of
noise or transients and other electrical equipment)
is desired for the Computer system. Refer to the
preinstallation chapter of the Computer Service
Manual for the power requirements.
3. An isolation/filtering transformer is
recommended for any source not satisfying the
power noise and ground specifications. Consult NC
Systems for additional information.
Power Noise and Ground Specifications
Power Line Ground Noise
Measured between power line return (neutral) and
ground return (green ground terminal) must be less
than 50 millivolts peak-to-peak over the frequency
spectrum of 0-50 MHz. The probable cause of ground
noise in excess of 50mV pp is a high ground
impedance (faulty ground line.)
Ground Impedance
Measured between neutral and ground must be less
than 0.1 ohm. This must be measured according to
UL 544 for ground impedance (i.e., less than 2.5-volt
drop across ground-to-neutral with a 25 amp AC
current flowing through it.)
Camera Ground
The Gamma Camera requires a separate ground
Environmental Requirements
Temperature Requirements
Ambient Temperature
55°F (13°C) to 90°F (32°C.)
Temperature Change
Not greater than 10°F (3°C) per hour.
The image detector should never be subjected to a
temperature change greater than 10°F (3°C) per hour.
The detector must be located away from heating and
air-conditioning outlets. Windows in the room should
be locked to prevent accidental temperature shock
that may damage the detector scintillation detector.
Humidity Requirements
Relative Humidity should be maintained at 50-60%.
Static electricity charges associated with lower
humidity levels may interfere with camera operation.
Higher humidity conditions may shorten the life of the
scintillation detector and other components.
Background Radiation
Should be kept to a minimum by keeping radioactive
sources in shielded containers. The camera emits no
radiation.
Electrical Radiation
Radiated electrical signals, such as personal paging
telemetry systems, may cause interference with
normal camera operation. Locate the equipment so it
is not in the path of the transmitting antenna.
Heat Dissipation
These figures are given to aid in planning of airconditioning requirements and assume all electronic
module slots are occupied.
System Layout
Air Flow
An air circulation corridor of 15 feet (18 inches
minimum) must be maintained between the wall and
the rear of the operator’s electronics console.
Serviceability
A clear area of 3 feet (minimum) should be
maintained in front of all cabinets
Basic Room Layout
The basic layout will be provided by NCS.
Camera
Max. Current = 9 amps
Max. Heat = 2,400 BTU
Computer and Accessories
Max. Current = 6 amps
Max. Heat = 2,500 BTU
NOTE:
Depends on the number of modules and system
configuration. For a precise measurement, measure
the voltage and current at the line cord and calculate
BTU’s as follows:
WATTS= (Voltage) x (Current) BTU= (Watts) x (3.1434)
